A decorated Iraq war veteran, who was jailed after the Twin Peaks shootout in Waco, is telling an alarming version of the deadly encounter.
He says not only was he wrongly imprisoned for three weeks, he says he witnessed police firing their weapons in an "aimless" assault into a crowd of bikers, nine of whom were killed.
Former U.S. Marine Michael Devoll of Fort Worth, who completed three tours of duty in Iraq, has survived an untold number of firefights. But he says the one he witnessed in Waco on May 17 will forever haunt him.
Not just because he was arrested following the incident and held in jail for 22 days on $1 million bail, but also because of what he calls a "barrage" of assault weapon fire coming from police directed into a crowd of bikers.
"I couldn't believe what I was seeing," Devoll said. "It was the most unorganized, unprofessional thing I've ever been a part of."
Devoll says he was a passenger in a pickup that had just pulled into the Twin Peaks parking lot, when he heard gunfire.
"I heard a few rounds of handgun fire and then, I would say, an overbearing suppressing fire of M-4 rounds," Devoll said.
"As they came from the Twin Peaks parking lot, about halfway through, is where they started engaging the group of individuals that were in the front," Devoll said.
The handgun fire, according to police reports, was between members of two biker gangs, the Bandidos and the Cossacks. The M-4, or assault rifle fire, according to Devoll, was from a large group of police stationed on the perimeter of the parking lot, moving in on the group of bikers next to Twin Peaks.
Devoll says while police were responding to a dangerous situation, it appeared as though they were randomly firing into a group of bikers.
"People lying on the ground, trying to get away from the gunfire," Devoll said. "I saw a woman with her hands over the top of her head screaming. People running for cover. The way the cops came running in and doing what they did, it seemed like almost shooting aimlessly into a crowd of people."
A police massacre, basically.
Apparently, most of the kills than came from police. Coroner’s report should show that.
If we ever see the coroner’s report...
And now, we are starting to see why everyone on scene was arrested and held incommunicado for as long as the authorities could get away with it.
VERY totalitarian.
Brett is gonna hear from some Marines. There are no “former Marines”. Ask one.
You have three posts without your resident Government agents chanting” Motorcycle Gangs, Motorcycle Gangs, those locked up and killed got what they deserved! We worship the Police!” What is wrong?
Don’t worry they will show up with a little girl under their knees.
Amazing how many folks cannot see our imminent future in what happened at Waco.
Over a hundred people held for weeks without probable cause.
Government suppression of the facts under the guise of “investigation”.
What looks increasingly like a police instigated massacre and FUBAR all with the goal of eliminating potential organized opposition (like the Tea Party - - different methods as appropriate).
Even folks who loudly claim to love freedom wind up loving government force more when it is used against the “wrong” people.
Perhaps we should ping them.
They insist that this was an event consisting of strictly motorcycle gangs. I guess pickups are the newest motorcycles. The truck probably had saddlebags and maybe a sidecar attached.
"It is the most important story in America today."

sport, it is reading all the uncritical, usually misinformed posts from conservatives defending the police which makes me believe we are past the days of keeping our freedom.
Even conservatives have been thoroughly propagandized and manipulated by the left with the daily group versus group dynamic.
The local police and law enforcement in all jurisdictions are not necessarily friends of freedom or the average law-abiding citizen.
Hmmm.... maybe there’s something in the water in Waco.
Luckily for all concerned, the American soldiers were able to put a stop to the intra-clan fighting in that Vietnamese hamlet.
(That is the Waco PD "official version of events" at Twin Peaks.)
If they did this to 170 rioters in Ferguson or Baltimore, the UN would be demanding a human rights investigation by now, and the EU would be pushing for economic sanctions against the US.
It's just amazing (and very worrisome) that American Pravda can spend a gajillion hours on a pool party brawl where nobody was injured, while ignoring a police massacre that killed or wounded more than 30 people.
First, they came for the Bakers.
Then they came for the Bikers.
Yes, this is the most important story in America today.
It should be getting the daily minute attention of everyone concerned with freedom.
The deafening silence tells us where we are. That the soviet American media in particular are pretending the story does not exist tells us a lot.
The relative silence of conservative sites (like Ace of Spades) is quite disturbing.
The fact that the little heard on a few conservative sites consists of much mindless police worship, tells me the left has won. The left has successfully pitted group against group all in favor of the inevitable government crackdown on, for instance, Free Republic.
After all, Free Republic is an extremist hate site, right? Isn’t that all our fellow Americans need to know?
