Napolitana should start keeping his Opinions to Himself.
His reaction as a Judge is typical of the Judges currently in the System, while thousands of crimi9nals are let out of the system. If the girl had followed the direction of the Officer she would have been fine.

Judge Napolitano: Prosecute ‘Hothead’ McKinney Pool Party Cop

Easy to see why he isn't a "judge" any more. Andrew doesn't get much "face" time on Fox and he is probably just trying to keep up some appearance or being relevent. This stupid "hit" piece on the cop sure makes Nappy look like a fool.

This man with the lowest hairline in history is a know-it-all lie-bertarian. If he said water was wet, I'd check. He never met a LEO he didn't want to prosecute.

Here's a question "Judge": What would you say about this cop if the kid who ran up behind him had a gun and started firing at the cop and the crowd? That he should have pulled his gun?

The cop could have also been protecting his gun. As he may not have known what the guys behind him were intending to do. He did not point the gun at anyone and then holstered the gun.

“...two guys (QUICKLY!) sneaking around behind the cop while he was distracted...”

Just my perception.

Hi Norm, I hope you are well.

I think you are spot on - the officer was “in the moment” and did what his countless hours of training prepared him for. We can not fully appreciate his actions in only the vacuum of a video.

I had a similar, personal experience with an unruly crowd of teens a few years ago. There were about 35-40 of them that were beginning to tussle in a park across the street from my house. Clad in only shorts (no shirt or shoes or firearm) I ventured over to interrupt the melee while my neighbor called the police. I was stupid, and should not have done it, but I did. I assumed my best parent authority voice and began barking orders. I was challenged by a few, and countered by reciting the license plates I had memorized before starting. I thought my only “weapon” was the stigma that they would have at being identified. For some reason the “kids” obeyed and broke up. I got a call the next day from the Mother of the boy that was being beaten. She wanted to thank me. I was lucky.

Casebolt was doing what he had to do until backups arrived. The man is full of courage. He unholstered his firearm to be prepared for what might occur. That is training. He never lifted it to lock on to a target. He was merely being prepared. I would be more troubled if he had not upholstered and got his brains beat out by the teens. Perhaps that is what some want. Passivity is an invitation to have harm occur.

I’ll go to war with him any day.

Thats what the libs here want alright. They are liberals. First and foremost. They want something to talk about. So what if a cop gets the crap beat out of him or killed? So what if the cop was totally in the right? They FEEL!!! They get to hold their righteous noses high and bitch.

Has there been any discussion of Casebopts day prior to this “event?” I heard it was very difficult.

The cop running around at the McKinney pool party deal sure looked comical and he F'd up pulling his gun like he did,but I do not think he should be prosecuted. He resigned and that's that. Only the media keeps fanning the flames.

“I think that the police officer realizes this”

Or maybe, like many other cops, he has been contemplating how poorly treated LEO’s are for the risks they take, and how they are sometimes having a targeted painted on them for their jobs, and maybe it just isn’t worth it any more.

Personally, those thoughts would have been going through my head without an incident like this happening. Experiencing it would seal the deal for me. Time to get out.

You might be able to get the cop on Federal civil rights charges for wrestling the girl to the ground. It’s a stretch, but probably enough for an indictment.

Pulling the weapon was justified, given the two guy’s who were aggressively approaching from his gun side. But the fact is that he placed himself into a position where that was necessary.

“this cop had just been called to two suicides”

Is this something that happened or could have happened?

I have not heard this before.

he ought to go thru a police training academy before making such comments.

Sure, because that's way more advanced than law school, passing the bar and becoming a judge. /s

When two men are rushing a police officer with clear hostile intent, in the middle of an arrest, in the middle of a mini-riot, in the middle of a nation where police are now being shot just for being police, I think the police officer has to assume the worst and protect himself. Secondly, he holstered the weapon immediately after the threat was gone.

Sharpton, DeBlasio, Obama, Holder - all contributed to the current divisive poisoned race relations, and all irresponsibly contributed to the murder of police officers. They did it for political gain.

That man that ran up behind the cop...

Lets stop there and work with the truth. The young man was NEVER behind the cop.

This video is readily available. I defy anyone to post a screen shot of him BEHIND the cop.

Wrong - the presence of the cop’s gun de-escalated it rather quickly.
