Pat Robertson has advice for bereaved mothers: your dead baby could have been Hitler

...a viewer asked host pat Robertson what she should say to a coworker who asked her "Why did God allow my baby to die?" ...

"As far as God's concerned, He knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease," Robertson said.

Sorry.

Not a Pat fan.

IMHO, he has done more harm than good.

I respect your opinion.

Responsibility2nd is correct.

You’ve got a pattern.

Robertson has always been somewhat of a dufus!

Post of the day!

A complete rebuttal of Robertson.

I wish that the church and TV preachers would just stick to the basics of:

Jesus being born of a virgin, living a sinless life, being the propitiation for our sins, dying on the cross, being buried, rising from the dead on the third day and coming back again and leave alone the following:

1.) Leave the eternal conditional security doctrine alone, 2.) lave the unconditional eternal security doctrine alone, too, 3.) leave the health/wealth doctrines out of the pulpit as well, and just tell people that works will not save, either, but that we accept Jesus, do our best as we walk in the Spirit, and leave our eternal fate in His hands.

Televangelism, the pro-wrestling of religion?

Please...

There are FReepers who have recently posted threads on the Duggars far more than I have.

And if I am not mistaken, I have seen Responsibility2nd posting on some threads about the Duggars.

Question: does that mean then, if he has been posting on those threads, that R2nd has a pattern then, too?

BTW, there was a thread from me on 6/1/2015 and 6/4/2015 about the Duggars.

One was nine days ago. So, one thread on one week and one during another week.

And I have posted about Pat Robertson in the past, too. I will admit to that.

Read post #24 and you will know where I am coming from.

"I’m entertained by people who think they are favored by God or because they believe or participate in some religious group that nothing bad should ever happen to them."

I don't think Robertson believes that...I think he's just senile.

" Even more entertaining is someone looking to a television personality for answers."

You find a grieving mother looking for comfort "entertaining?" Wow.

Maybe she had no one else to turn to, happened to be watching his show and decided to type out an email. I won't mock her for that.

One of my favorite passages from the Bible, and probably my favorite “book” of the Bible.

The irony in all this, I’d bet, is that a bunch of liberals will be OUTRAGED at Robertson’s insensitive comments about poor dead babies...as if they care about dead babies.

Churches no longer just stick to the basics that I pointed out in post #24, and get involved in health/wealth doctrines, the doctrines of both UES and CES and often become close to celebrity status either by seeking it out of letting it be foisted upon them.

People tried to make a celebrity (i.e., King) out of Jesus after the miracle of feeing the multitude and He wanted nothing to do with it.

I doubt that Jesus would let any Republican, Democrat (or any politician for that matter) take a picture with Him as a photo prop but there are certain people who seem to have no problem doing this with Republican politicians.

Yes. How moronic can you be to believe that anyone on tv has anything other than their self aggrandizement at heart over anyone’s suffering. TV is filled with whores. She sought advice from a publicity whore.

One could also add

Matthew 5:45

so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust

You do have a very good point there.

Thank you for pointing that out!

My take is that one of two camps is emerging/emerged:

If you take camp #1 and involve yourself in the life of the woman and the unborn and stop abortion legally, then it will be hard to then to just slip away after the baby is born and say that you no longer have any responsibility, especially if the girl is underage. Some will say that her family and relatives are the ones to “step to the plate” and help her financially But if that is so, should the family and relatives then be the only ones having any part in forming a decision to abort the baby then?

Camp #2 is that you will not get involved in the woman’s decision, but you don’t want to pay for her abortion either.

#1 reminds me of those whom I have known who go down to the altar to pray for people and lead them in the sinner’s prayer to accept Jesus, but then after that they want no part in discipling them, have no time for that and/or being a mentor for them and helping them.

So were the Mayans and Aztecs (in your opinion) worse than Sodom and Gomorrah?

Was ripping out the hearts of possibly hundreds of thousands of people over the centuries by both civilizations worse than Sodom?

If so, then why did no fire fall upon them?

I have often wondered about this. maybe there is no answer as to why.

And if God could warn Joseph about Herod, why didn’t he warn the other parents in the village of Bethlehem? If it was so scripture could be fulfilled, then God, knowing everything, could through divine providence make it so that there would be no massacre of the innocents and thus alter history before it ever happened and thus no need for anyone in the Old Testament to utter this prophecy that it would happen.

Because she is upset she gets a free pass? She cannot deal with her situation because she is sub moronic. Why not ask the homeless guy on the corner for advice?

That’s like the uninsured girl who rear-ended my truck. Her father said they wouldn’t pay because her mother had cancer. Where’s the logic in that. Having cancer does not allow one to drive without insurance or crash into people. I cautioned him and he refused to pay. I then went to the DMV, file the appropriate forms and had all their registrations and licenses suspended for driving without insurance. Grief is not a free pass.

John 6:51: “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

How do you “un-eat” this bread?

Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and THOU shalt be SAVED..”

The truth of SALVATION ISN’T Trust in the finished work of Christ and maybe in the end it will be enough for you. It either IS enough or it isn’t. Once truly SAVED one is truly SAVED for all eternity.

The baby could have grown up to be another Pat Robertson and taken advantage of people’s faith to rob them of their savings. I would still want the baby to live and say so instead and tell her something like #20 has written.

My grandmother would write checks to the 700 club and her sons would intercept them as the checks went thru the family business. She had thousands of dollars that she would not have had for her retirement instead of this guy spending her money.
