The Obama administration is working quickly to push back against the notion that there is no strategy to defeat Islamic State terrorists, after President Obama’s comments during a press conference in Germany after the G-7 World Leaders Summit.

“The ends are very clear, we’ve said this all along, the goal is to degrade and defeat ISIL and remove them as a threat in the region and around the world,” he said.
(The newly minted State Department spokesperson John) Kirby outlined Obama’s effort to train and equip more Iraqi troops to fight ISIS, directing airstrikes against ISIS forces and working with surrounding countries to stop ISIS from bringing recruited fighters across the borders of Iraq and Syria.
“Every day we take a look at the strategy, in it’s execution,” Kirby said, asserting that it was “sound.”
Obama’s comments, he explained, was referring to a specific element of his strategy. ........

What the Hell is “strategic patience” and from whom is he asking it? ISIS? Or is this just him asking Western allies to not publicly criticize his complete incompetence? If he’s at the point where he’s begging weak, wishy-washy European allies not to publicly criticize him, he is more completely pathetic than he’s ever been before.

Meanwhile ISIS is conquering whole cities and is gaining strength in numbers, money, and power.
Obama isn’t planning to a damn thing. He doesnt want a strategy, he has no strategy. He has no plans to actually fight against ISIS.
Last year, when ISIS could’ve been disintegrated, Obama said they were the JV. This year, there’s talk of what the borders of their Islamic state will be. I assume that means they’re now a varsity squad. And now Obama wants “strategic patience”. For what? So ISIS can keep moving up through the brackets and win the World Championship?

That's not a strategy, unless maybe ineffective chaos is your strategy. You actually have to stick with a strategy. That implies you develop one by a) knowing what you're doing, b) collecting and using real information not political expedients and agenda, c) taking advice from those that know what their doing (eg. military planners) on elements you are unfamiliar with (see a), and finally d) stick with it, give it a chance by actually giving the people implementing it the resources and support they need.

The thing we need to realize is Obama is on the other side, and dragging his feet is what he needs to do to let his side get stronger. ISIS is more than willing to trade one life for 2 more.
