I try to always catch his show on Tuesdays to hear Prof. Cohen (I think that’s his name).

Ewww. I remember this clown from the 80s. He was always good for trying to justify the Soviet Union's side in the Cold War. It was all due to our fear and over reaction to the Soviet Union and of course gross misunderstanding of their intentions.

Sound familiar? (Hint - just substitute Russian for Soviet and nothing has changed in 30 years for this apologist)

Thanks for the link. I admire Mr. Bachelor. I listened to him every day during the 2008 elections especially when it became clear that Zero would win. Bachelor and his guests had genuine grief and I knew that gas prices would sky-rocket. Bill Roggio knows strategy just like Austin Bay.

I think it is helpful to listen to all sides of the situation. Too many people have an Arab-to-Jew type reaction to Russia. They hate them from every cell in their body and are stone cold incapable of listening to the details of the situation. It is impossible to evaluate a solution responsibly when you are coming from a pathological perspective.

I agree with you in theory. However with Professor Cohen all the listening to and sympathy with is cast towards the Soviets (oops I mean Russian) and all the aspersions are cast towards the west.

I might be more sympathetic if there was a different messenger. I agree there is a Russian perspective on this. Still, I caught his act during the Cold War and I really can't muster any respect for the man these days.

On a related note I am a HUGE John Bachelor fan and catch his program most nights except on Tuesday for the aforementioned reasons. Wednesday nights he has Gordon Chang on who I find very insightful about the goings on in Asia. Bachelor's program is great because it is issue oriented. No bomb throwing or ad homs like there are on other conservative political talk shows or on liberal networks and websites. Just read the comments section in any internet site that posts articles. It's obvious the vast majority of posters never read the article on which they are commenting.
