This officer and others had to chase down a couple of thousand baby pigs that were being hauled by the semi that crashed on U.S. 35 West on Monday evening, June 8, 2015. (Jim Noelker/Staff) -

We have feral hogs all across The South, fro Florida to Texas and as far north as Tennessee. Most of them are descendants of escaped hogs the Spanish brought when they were searching for gold. Desoto and Ponce DeLeon brought them to use as food on their expeditions.........................

South Jersey used to have wild hogs in the Pine Barrens but they were hunted out over 100 years ago.
