In surprise shakeup, Jeb Bush taps Danny Diaz as campaign manager (Jeb campaign meltdown)

Jeb Bush hasn't even officially launched his presidential campaign yet, and already there's a shakeup underway.

In a surprise move, Bush has tapped veteran Republican strategist Danny Diaz to serve as his campaign manager, his political team announced on Monday. Diaz, 39, a longtime Republican operative known for his aggressive tactics and as a communications specialist, will move to Miami to take on a day-to-day managerial role after spending the last few months as a media consultant.

The restructuring of Bush's staff was unexpected, given that Bush aides, donors and friends have said for months that David Kochel -- a GOP operative from Iowa who Bush successfully wooed away from Mitt Romney's inner circle earlier this year -- was poised to serve as campaign manager.

Several people familiar with the moves said that the new arrangement also reflected larger tensions between two of Bush's top advisers -- Sally Bradshaw and Mike Murphy -- who have differed on the direction of Bush's forthcoming campaign. Beginning Monday, the two will go separate ways as Bradshaw becomes a senior campaign adviser and Murphy takes control of Bush's super PAC and is legally barred from coordinating with the campaign.

Other observers said that Diaz's promotion is an acknowledgment that Bush's six-month "exploratory phase" -- in which he raised tens of millions but lost about half of his support in public opinion polls -- has not gone well

Bush campaign is melting down and he's not bringing in the donations he was expecting. Great news!

They may want to really shake up the campaign and change the candidate himself. That’s the problem with the poor showing. Every time he opens his mouth, I Google how to renounce my party ID.

Jeb Bush can bite me. I’ll vote for the Demorat before I perpetuate more of the GOP liberal dynasty.

Ah, a pity. I was holding out for a real, no-nonsense conservative with no connections to the existing fat cats.

Danny Diaz is the Communications Director for the Republican National Committee. Most recently, Diaz served as Deputy Communications Director for John McCain 2008. Prior to joining the John McCain 2008 campaign, Diaz served as Deputy Communications Director for the RNC.

Not quite where I will pull for a dim, but I will not vote for him if he gets the nod. I’d rather see the dims at the wheel for the final drive off the cliff.

In this case, a very short bus.

Well, when he drops out Jebster will have lots of money to start a foundation to support liberal causes.

Jeb got dragged out of bed & lost a quick 25 pounds to run for a job he has no real interest in, or qualifications for.

And now he’s hiring an RNC/John McCain/Mitt Romney flunkee as campaign manager. Nice move, Jebster!

Jeb Bush’s campaign was dead for being another Bush and then opening his mouth.

Or "even money and influence can't always mask a collapse of a familial gene pool". Look to that dolt Chris Cuomo for another example.

Kochel will run the Romney campaign, which will start up 2 weeks before the NH primary, when the unfavorable ratings of every Republican currently “running” will be >50%.

You heard it here first.

Hows that 'come one come all' approach to the illegal alien problem workin' out for ya, Jebbie?

Remember now, no compromising those open border principles, Jebster.
