The pool of consultants for presidential elections is relatively small. The pool of consultants involved in winning presidential elections is even smaller.
Each election cycle, wannabes hire from those pools. Consultants in those pools work for whoever pays them. They work for Dems. They work for Pubbies. They work for the paycheck. If they are lucky enough, they got on the team of the election winner, and their stock/worth/value astronomically increases for the next presidential election.
In the interim, they work as consultants for FoxNews, CNN, MSNBC, etc.
