Soooo...Someone explain who ‘coming to their aid’, they being people in the process of being arrested, isn’t grounds to shoot every one of them? I s not ‘aid’ in this context, a felony? If that ‘sid’ threatened the cop, is it not his training to pull his gun as the next least severe action between a verbal command and actually shooting?

Should we suspend every cop that holds a gun on a suspect now?

Officers were called to the a local community pool around 7:15 p.m. local time to respond to a “disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave,” the McKinney Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page. Other calls also advised that the teens were “actively fighting,” police said.

“First responding officers encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands. Nine additional units responded to the scene. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the situation,” police said.

Not sure what else the cop could have done.

I take it that pretty much everybody commenting here hasn't actually invested the seven minutes t5o watch the video, where even this cops fellow officers, who in the video look like decent cops trying to do their job RIGHT, are clearly disgusted with this MORON cop's ludicrous over-reaction.

If I had been one of those kids, I'd have come to their aid as well and had a gun pulled on me. VERY OBVIOUSLY this was a group of average kids, blacks and whites friends with each other, and very obviously the MORON COP that people who should know better are defending here, is confirming for teens that cops are worthy of their contempt.

The good news is, that this video indicates that out of three cops, two of them were smart and good, and only ONE was a foul-mouthed (he used the F word, the GD word, etc. etc. etc. while "instructing" these kids) jerk who should NEVER have a job in law enforcement.

That one cop was being a damn fool, running around like a chicken with its head cut off, barking at people. He single-handedly unnecessarily escalated the tension around there. If that had been someplace like Baltimore or some other leftist ghetto craphole he could have started a riot.

An old military buddy, who is now a Dallas PD Sgt, sent me a video of this earlier this morning.

He ALWAYS defends cops, but said this one guy was out of control. Notice that most of the other cops stay clear of him.

I’ll also note that he was bitching about having to run around in the Texas heat with 30 lbs of gear. It sounds to me like he needs a new job.

The one cop overreacted, but there were a large number of kids all over the place, some who thought police commands were mere suggestions...so I'm not so sure he was in the wrong, unprofessional, yes, but wrong not so sure...

Pulling his gun should have been his last resort, he needs retraining or a desk job..

The mouthy black teenage girl was resisting the officer...she should be fortunate it was only a face plant she got..

You know that he has lost control of himself when he starts spewing obscenities at the kids.

Losing control of his language should have revealed to the other cops to go over and get him under control, instead, he instantly escalated into assault and threatening to shoot the kids.

I would say that the cops lost the day, because they couldn’t handle the situation.

The cop slammed an innocent girl to the ground, and then when her friends tried to help her, he pulled a gun on them. He should be fired.
