The first alleged sexual abuse victim of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert has been named as a student on the high school boys' wrestling team he used to coach.
Steve Reinboldt was the student equipment manager when Hastert, now 73, worked at Yorkville High school in Illinois from 1965 to 1981.
He was abused for years by Hastert, his sister Jolene Burdge told ABC this week, who referred to her brother as his 'great, right hand man' in a 1970 high school yearbook.
She said Hastert, who was in his late twenties at the time, had been a father figure to him but also believed that relationship had caused irreparable harm.
She said: 'He [Hastert] damaged Steve I think more than any of us will ever know.'

The party line is that this has NOTHING whatsoever to do with homosexuality and is an entirely different problem. That the kid later died of AIDS also has nothing to do with homosexuality either. The whole thing is really about hypocrisy, which only Christians and Republicans can commit.

So punish him for the underlying crime. But he’s also a victim — a victim of blackmail, and that is not a crime. It’s the blackmailer who’s the criminal in this case — but instead they choose to go after the person being blackmailed (probably for political reasons.)

Recall that under Hastert’s leadership of the House, Frist’s leadership of the Senate, and George Bush’s presidency (first 6 years), the nation went from a balanced budget to running annual deficits of over $100 million per year. Hastert’s House was infamous for runaway earmarks such as the $200 million bridge to nowhere in Alaska. The new about Hastert’s predator instincts may provide some explanation for why the Republican House overnight went from fiscal responsibility under Gingrich to trying to outdo the Democrats on spending. What I still don’t understand is why George W. Bush would not reign in the irresponsible spending with a veto or two. Was Bush also compromised?
He hasn’t been identified. Media have only reported that he is a former student of Hastert’s. They have also reported, citing law enforcement, that a second alleged victim, who was not paid any money, is also cooperating with the investigation. This woman’s brother would be the third alleged victim.
Barney Frank served 40 years, reelected year after year, even after it was proven one of his boy toys was running a queer prostitution ring out of Frank’s capitol hill office. It’s really hard to believe Frank was never on the presidential ticket.
Jeffrey Dalhmer was a serial homosexual psychotic mass killer. He would have sex with men, hate himself afterwards, then cut their bodies in a million different pieces. The majority of mass killers in world history have been homosexuals. Let’s see if George the little Clinton stooge will ever report that story. Hell would freeze over first.
