As the American people have watched the horrific rise and expansion of the radical Islamic State group over the past year or two, they have also witnessed helplessly as several Americans have been taken hostage and executed by the radical Islamic jihadists.
Such atrocities spurred a member of the Armys Green Berets to contact Congress and blow the whistle on the Obama administrations policies dealing with rescuing American hostages.
But while American hostages held by terrorists barely garner a nod from the administration, whistleblowing about it certainly gets their attention, as Lt. Col. Jason Amerine has found out.
Amerine, who was due to have already retired from the Army, has instead had his retirement delayed and pay cut off by the Pentagon while he remains the focus of an investigation into his leaking information to Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter.
I need to know ASAP what you will be doing to rectify this situation as LTC Amerine should not be expected to survive without pay as he is being involuntarily forced to remain on active duty, wrote Army Reserve Lt. Col. Billy Ruhling, Amerines lawyer, in an email to the Armys legal counsel. I will look for your plan of action first thing in the morning.
According to The Washington Times, Amerine had worked with the California Republican behind the scenes to craft a bill that would streamline and coordinate government efforts at rescuing American hostages held by terrorists around the globe.
Amerine was scheduled to testify soon before a Senate Committee panel looking into government retaliation against whistleblowers, something that is alleged to have dramatically increased under the Obama administration.
This hearing will highlight the stories of whistleblowers from different agencies who allege they faced retaliation because they brought attention to government wrongdoing, read a letter from Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, chairman of the committee holding the hearing.
In the meantime, Amerine is under criminal investigation by the Army, something his supporters claim is simple harassment.
Congress should require the administration back off from its blatant harassment of a man who was simply trying to help Americans held hostage around the world, something at which the Obama administration has utterly failed.
----Please share this on Facebook and Twitter if you think it is wrong for the Obama administration to retaliate against whistleblowers who are simply trying to fix the many things our federal government has messed up.
There are no words to describe my contempt for this administration.
Maybe he should ask Bergdahl for a loan. Sickening.
There’s only one true revenge for this EVIL.
WE NEED A PROSECUTING PRESIDENT IN 2016 WHO WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.
the words that come to my mind are from King Henry
Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest.
And this traitorous bastard has not been deposed why?
“”WE NEED A PROSECUTING PRESIDENT IN 2016””
No - we need to PROSECUTE a president in 2015. I nearly wrote EXECUTE - don’t know what came over me! Must be overly tired!
Wearing the bars/stars requires one occasionally to step up. It’s good that the LTC sucked it up and did. Now it’s required that his back be protected by others who also wear the stars/bars. Where are they?
Not just the administration, there is plenty of malfeasance occurring on both sides of the aisle. Time for an overhaul.
Well, I don’t have any confidence to believe any of this is going to come out before the end of 2016.
He isn’t the first soldier that got f***** by the Army. I will personally testify to that.
It would be a propaganda coup for Putin to send him money.
Just sayin'...
I believe that treason is still punishable by execution in the US. After conviction of treason, then execution. That sounds in order. It does however, require the uncastration of so many GOPe Pubbies in Pork barrel, DC, for that to happen.
