Thousands Sign Shocking Petition To Strip Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner Of His/Her Olympic Gold Medal

While the overall reaction to Caitlyn Jenner's introduction has been overwhelmingly positive, restoring our faith in the world and making Caitlyn herself feel 'humbled' and extremely happy, there are some who haven't reacted quite so well.

In fact, a shocking petition has now been started urging the International Olympic Committee to actually REVOKE her incredible 1976 Olympic gold medal, as they claim she was "in violation of committee rules."

Yes, really.

The 65-year-old won the medal for the decathlon in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, but now some are suggesting that she should give back the medal.

And by some, we mean the 9,000 people who have actually signed this piece of CRAZINESS.

The Change.org petition was created by Jennifer Bradford, who says in an open letter: "It has recently come to light that gold medalist Bruce Jenner is in fact transgender, and therefore, identifies as a woman.

“So, can he now compete in the WOMEN’s Olympic Track?”

No, that ground has been covered. There was an athlete who had been born with indefinite parts and the doctors had done a little cosmetic surgery and called her a girl. The IOC checked her DNA and said you have to have XX in your DNA to compete as a woman.

“...9,000 people who have actually signed this piece of CRAZINESS”

Right. Nothing else is crazy about this.

> but I don’t see any justification for pulling his previous awards.

Yep, he had all his bits and pieces at the time. No ex post facto recriminations allowed!

Agree.

But consider that the Media, who is forcing this on everyone (kids included), may be the real target. Can/will they defend Bruce/Caitlyn’s Olympic Gold performance? Force them into hypocrisy?

“The man needs prayers and pity - but I don’t see any justification for pulling his previous awards. “

If it was documented that he won that medal due to thinking he was a kangaroo and therefore convincing himself he could jump farther than everyone else, it would still be fair and he should keep the medal.

"HE deserves the medal HE won at the Olympics, even though HE is a very confused and disordered man today."

Absolutely right. He won fair and square and you can't take that away from him.

That was then...now is now....but this NEW award for Courage should not be given IMO....too many others who have shown “courage”....Bruce wasn't courageous in making this a public spectacle...he's just been playing to the crowd for more applause.

“Shocking” “Craziness”

But butchering your face, taking hormones, and pretending to be a woman is just ho-hum normality.

What I find shocking is that ESPN is giving this egotistical being an award for courage. That is messed-up.

Oh, I had forgotten them. I refreshed myself on Google for a few minutes.

I don't think they ever had a sex change. I think they just pretended to be women their entire lives.

It is very interesting that they immediately retired in the midst of dominating their events at the very instant that chromosome sex testing rules came into existence.

OK people, I get it. You don’t agree with what he did, neither do I, but when he competed in the olympics he had a penis. He managed to beat all of the other penises in his event and won a gold medal. I’ve said it before, but making an argument like this keeps people from taking you seriously in the future. This is an asinine petition that just makes republicans look like idiots. Just my opinion on the matter.

“In her defense, I think it was a case where she didn’t know what her coaches were pumping into her.”

I think that was also a problem in Olympics female gymnastics.

I think the same can be said for the mens figure skating team.
