Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) is set to announce his presidential candidacy on Thursday afternoon in Addison, Texas.
These guys endorsing him at this speech makes no sense to me:
Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Paul Craig
Retired U.S. Navy SEAL JJ Jones
Taya Kyle, widow of Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. history and author of American Sniper
Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of Lone Survivor
Navy SEAL Morgan Luttrell
Retired U.S. Marine Corps Captain Dan Moran
Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Pete Scobell
Retired U.S. Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor Recipient Mike Thornton
I like Rick Perry. Liked him in 2012. I would have no problem voting for him if he wins the nomination. He gave a really good speech.
Texans weren’t duped by Perry. Every election/re-election as Gov had Perry running against a horrendous candidate. He was a very lucky politician in that respect.
In fact, his opponents were so bad, it hurt him when he ran for President because he never had to debate or take a race seriously.
Perry’s on my short list of potential candidates.
...”Gotta admit, he’s giving a pretty good speech”....
Yep...he had to to recover the ground from his run before.
He is a powerful speaker IMO...but I really have reservations about him...he’s staunchly a globalist but we may not be able to stop that agenda as it’s so far out of the gate now, and with such power behind it, I can’t see more then perhaps slowing it down from time to time.
Should Perry get the election I would vote for him....though I prefer others before him and in fact supporting Cruz.
Amnesty is going to happen no matter who is President...at most tweaking it is the only difference we’ll see depending on what’s up for trade to do so.
I think Perry would use Amnesty to position us on the International agenda to flood countries with third worlder’s in such a way as to benifit us as much as that’s possible.....he is a Patriot in that sense and does love our country...at the very least his state.
Nobodys perfect, he wouldn’t be my first choice but is a hell of a lot better than Jeb or Christie.
Well they are certainly getting onto the track one by one....but not up to the gate yet. So it's very fluid IMO.
I do like the idea there are “many” stepping up......which shows the American people lots of “others” rather than Hillary or O’Malley, which are really the same cloth.
I'm still hopeful Cruz will come thru the pack at the right time.....I think he can do it. But until they're up to the gate there's going to be a lot of wrangling.
My then teenage daughters did not receive the injection for HPV. Rick Perry was wrong on that one so I opted out of it. He’s been right on nearly everything else so I’m not throwing him out of the ring on one thing I disagreed with.
“Nobodys perfect, he wouldnt be my first choice but is a hell of a lot better than Jeb or Christie.”
A hell of a lot better. A Ted Cruz/Rick Perry ticket would get my vote in a heartbeat. Even the other way around I’d be fine with. But I like Ben Carson, too. The rest of them, just meh.
Perry is an unmitigated disaster. Less than a year ago he said Hillary was a "Great Secretary of State. The Republican nominee, whoever it may be, will need to go after Hillary for her horrific performance at the State department. But Perry, having recently praised her as being "Great" at it, cannot do that.
As I said, the man is a disaster. WE can do better, far better.
“As I said, the man is a disaster. WE can do better, far better.”
Libs said the same thing about George Bush and we got Baraq Obama.
Cruz and Palin are the only ones on my list.
George Bush was termed out when Obama ran for president so that comment makes absolutely zero sense.
Have you no nonsensical comeback for that too? lol!
And many of the Perry faithful don't like either.
If Perry and had his way, Ted Cruz, one of the best conservatives in the Senate would not be in the Senate. That says a lot about who Rick Perry really is.
Apparently we can’t do better judging from past performance.
