Washington (CNN)This time, Rick Perry has nowhere to go but up.
Four years after his first presidential campaign was crushed by the weight of his debate gaffe and stump speech mishaps, the governor who spent 14 years presiding over Texas is launching his second bid for the Republican nomination on Thursday.
He's ditched the signature cowboy boots and added black-rimmed glasses. He's spent the intervening years recovering from health problems and boning up on policy.
Now, Perry will ask GOP primary voters for a second chance.

He may have boned up on his policy and gotten those smart looking glasses, but he still has that problem of having a long history of being pro-ILLEGAL alien.

They’re all running at the behest of the elites. It’s a plan to siphon off votes from the real conservatives so that yet another liberal Republican can be anointed the nominee.

You can bet Perry’s goal is to take Texas votes from Cruz.

And Huckabee is in to take votes and dollars from conservative Christians and evangelicals. Seems that every candidate has a job to do.

I was impressed by the 'gaffe' because he was actually talking about eliminating entire departments. The important point wasn't that he forgot an agency, but that he actually wants to eliminate them. I just wish he had a list of about 50 in his pocket. We need to eliminate more than just Education, Commerce and Energy.

I don't think Perry will siphon off
conservative votes from Cruz. Maybe some RINO votes from Linda, Jebbie and Huckleberry, tho.
It will be interesting to see if Gov Abbott enters the fray, with an endorsement. My $ says Abbott backs Cruz, if he endorses at all.

He is hoping most who watched his brain freeze in the 2012 debate will have brain freeze now about the event.

No, but Perry will be siphoning off plenty of RINO votes from Cruz. There are plenty of people who would go Cruz over those others because he's Texan/name-recognition, but now go for Perry because he has more recognition/RINOness.

And don't forget how Perry's shooting of a coyote makes him a super politician. I'm still trying to figure that one out. As I said in that thread, I have had the unfortunate cause to shoot many a coyote on my property and I have never thought it anything to brag about nor have I ever thought it made me any sort of "super" anything.
Color me confused but I just can't figure out how Perry's chest hair or coyote shooting qualify him for the presidency.
