My grandfather was deeply mentally ill. He spent nearly a year in a psychiatric institution after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder; he heard the radio talking to him. He became suicidal. He spent years battling the condition, until he was prescribed lithium. For the next several decades, the medication brought his mental illness under control.
Nothing would have been crueler to my grandfather than had society told him that his delusions were correct — that the radio was, in fact, talking to him; that the curtains were indeed threatening him; that he was normal, and that it was the stereotypes of the world inducing his paranoia.
Yet that is the view of the anti-science left that this week declared former Olympic champion Bruce Jenner a woman. Vanity Fair led the way, featuring Jenner wearing a one-piece corset, Photoshopped and made up beyond nearly all recognition. The 22-page profile of Jenner insists that everyone call him Caitlyn, addresses him as "she," and explains that despite the fact that Jenner has all male genitalia and all male genetics, he is in fact a woman — even though the writer explains his own confusion as to gender pronoun usage.
Jenner freely admits that he had doubts right after having his face surgically altered in a 10-hour procedure, but that a counselor from the Los Angeles Gender Center explained it was just the painkillers talking (it would be illegal in California for a counselor to explain to Jenner that he requires serious mental illness treatment beyond bodily mutilation).
Conservatives better get ahead of this next great “Civil rights” fight or we’ll see a pedophile with his victim in loving embrace on the cover of vanity fair inside of 5 years.
its body dysmorphia. some people get legs and arms removed in foreign countries due to this disease.
why cant they do it here? only certain parts can be removed?

Words are just markers for concepts, and concepts can get people killed. Millions of people, wholesale.
Germany was one of the most advanced societies on earth, and German people were some of the most productive.
When they started redefining words, it turned into hell on earth. Jews became “subhumans,” conquering other countries turned into “the need for lebensraum,” and you all know the rest.
The attempt - a few weeks ago - by an academic to invent the word “disabling” as in “when you read to your kids at bedtime you are disabling other children who’s parents don’t read to them” is one the most vile things I’ve ever heard.
But the word - and the concept - is “in play” now, and we can expect government policy to start to incorporate it soon.
Now that he’s a “real woman” I wonder if he uses tampons.

I have a hard time remembering the details of nonsense and craziness. I’ve spent a lifetime making order in my mind and learning to use my mind to make order in the world around me. As a result, my mind doesn’t handle madness well.
I had this super liberal psychology professor in college (well, they all are but still) and even she admitted that studies show “transgender” people who undergo surgery usually revert to depression/anxiety/etc. a few years after “transforming.” These people need mental help. It’s sad society is celebrating it instead of truly helping people with the very real mental issues they have.

you are right about transgender being a mental illness. I have a sibling whom I love deeply that is transgendered. my sibling is a female that wants to be male and I have watched her slowly sink into being identified as a boy. it all started with her talking about it being ok to be a masculine girl when she was around 20 at some point while going tom college she connected up with gay rights crowd who reinforced her wanting to be a boy. it is hard to know what is going on in her head but in the area of her gender I don’t think she will ever be happy even if she has surgery,
the biggest problem as is in the seventies the psychiatric community was infiltrated by a lot of people with gender issues and sex issues they wanted to fix them selves. no one wants to have a mental illness. So these mentally ill psychologists and counselors rather then treating it as an illness deigned that it is mental and instead indulge there illness.
