What Jeb Bush Just Said About Immigration May Sink His Ship Before It Sets Sail
Western Journalism ^ | 6/1/15 | B. Christopher Agee

During his final broadcast as host of CBS’ Face the Nation, Bob Schieffer pressed likely Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush on his willingness to embrace positions to the left of many candidates already vying for the party’s nomination. Bush defended his views, suggesting the primary process would be more effective if all candidates expressed their true intentions instead of pandering to the GOP’s conservative base.

“I think people are so disaffected and … so cynical about politicians and politics,” he said, “they don’t want to hear someone say, well ‘I’m for this’ and immediately shift back to another position for the general election.”

Bush then brought up one issue for which he has already received serious flak from conservatives.

“I have views that are different than some in our party,” he said, “and that’s what we’ll sort out if I’m a candidate. I’m not going to back down on views on immigration, for example.”

Schieffer asked Bush if he still supports a pathway toward legal status for millions of illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S.

“I’m for a path to legalized status,” he acknowledged, “where people get a provisional work permit, where they pay taxes, pay a fine, learn English, don’t commit crimes, don’t receive federal government assistance, and where they earn legal status. They don’t earn citizenship, they don’t cut in line with people who have been patiently waiting on the outside.”

He went on to deliver a public message for anyone who claims his plan is tantamount to amnesty.

“Those who are opposed to that or call that amnesty don’t have a plan really to deal with the 11 million people who are here illegally,” he said.

The host then asked Bush repeatedly whether he would revoke Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration should he become president.

Jeb Bush-Hillary Clinton should represent the Uniparty ticket.

"1. All individuals, companies, corporations, business shall use E-Verify to verify the qualification of every employee to work in the United States."

We have a deliberately open border. The government even gives free airfare to distribute new illegals around the country. The purpose of E-Verify is to control regular Americans, not illegals. It is like TSA.

Let’s ditch the name calling - serves no purpose.
If you don’t say the person’s name .. how will people know who you’re talking about.

These GOPe’s cry that there is no way to enforce border control but they are confident they can change earth’s climate if only we comply with gov’t controls.

Do LIV’s notice this?

They have been saying 11 million are here for over a decade, with open borders and giving them welfare, its more like 30 million.

Bush can’t even get his own wife to speak English, that is why she never gives an English address, does interviews.

Mrs. Bush can’t speak well in English.

“Jeb” Bush’s real name is John Ellis Bush. We can just call him Juan.

This is the only thing I've heard about JEB! saying that I agree with. I'm tired of the two faced traitorous pretenders who go hard core in the primaries but show their true liberal colors in the general election. If they can't be what they really are, they shouldn't be running.

Everything else out of JEB!'s mouth/brain is e/e RINO trash including his pandering love for illegals/amnesty.

Rather than staying at home have you considered writing in your favorite conservative's name. By doing this you are making an explicit statement whereas there can be any number of reasons for not voting.

If enough conservatives followed this proposal, the insiders would have to take notice of how many conservative votes their candidate lost.

BOTH.

The problem stems from a policy of aggressive non-enforcement.

I like how he says he supports a legal path to citizenship. There is a way. It’s called naturalization. It takes actual work, sacrifice, and intelligence. Not one country in the entire world has a politician that talks like this, or would elect someone like this, or would even allow someone to speak like this.

Answer this: Why would anyone want to allow people that want to reap all the benefits, but not pay the cost in our country?

Each answer is malignant.

Jeb Bush is a joke.

His father was a lukewarm president. His brother was a good president and now he thinks it is his turn.

The qualifications? None, other than it is his turn.

In this new world of “FAIRNESS” he should be given the prize even though he would not know to do with it...after all, it would be fair.

The establishment pukes have been pushing that '11 million illegals' lie for the past 30 years. The true number is closer to 10 times that amount.

“I have views that are different than some in our party,” he said.

Make that MOST in his party. Which makes one question why he’s actually running as a Republican.

The host then asked Bush repeatedly whether he would revoke Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration should he become president.

“No,” he said, “I think it ought to be one of the first priorities for substantive policy changes is fixing a broken immigration system – and this will be part of that.”

So says JEB Arbusto.
