Ted Cruz, breaking new ground on hypocrisy | Editorial
Star Ledger ^ | 5/31/2015 | Editorial

Posted on 05/31/2015 6:39:34 PM PDT by VinL

It is well established that between ears of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) there is a Rube Goldberg machine gone haywire, judging by his impulse to summon a fabrication or absurdity for almost any occasion.

To wit: He compares climate activists to flat-Earthers, blames President Obama for the 2008 economic crash, claims ISIS is "literally nailing Christians to trees" (not true), asserts that cities with the toughest gun control laws have the most crime, estimates there are "111,000 agents" at the IRS (missed by a factor of 10), and believes that George Soros is plotting to shut down golf courses throughout the U.S.

Now the captain of Team Fringe is talking again, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of popcorn being made by dense people all over the land.

"Democrats and Republicans in the congressional delegation," he told the victims of Texas floods Wednesday, "will stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations to provide the relief to help Texans who are hurting."

Sound familiar? Probably not.

Here's what he said after voting "no" on Sandy relief:

"This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington – an addiction to spending money we do not have. The Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects."

This has been your weekly reminder that anyone might slither onto the campaign trail this year,(snip)

We all know whenever there’s a natural disaster, the DC “looters” use it as an opportunity to break into the treasury and steal taxpayer money for pork and graft. The only distinction between these career politician looters and the street guys, is that the DC thieves steal in broad daylight and without masks.

So, when the looters loaded up the Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill with pay-offs and pork, Sen. Cruz , AGAIN, called them out for what they are- crooks- and he voted against it.

Now, that the wing nuts at the Star Ledger characterize Sen. Cruz as a “hypocrite” for opposing establishment corruption, is not surprising. What surprises me is that so many conservatives still don’t realize that Sen. Cruz is the only candidate that will fearlessly take on the GOP. He’s the last chance we got.

If ISIS isn’t nailing Christians to trees it’s because this is difficult to do after beheading them. I don’t know how this fool can gloss over the indisputable fact that the cities with the strongest gun control laws have the highest rate of “gun violence”.

The writer of this article is beneath contempt.

He's at least as solid as Reagan.

Any guesses as to when the Star Leger last endorsed the Republican nominee for President? My guess is 1952.

I’m a big fan of Cruz but what makes you think the Texas bill wont be loaded with pork if the sandy bill was?

Star-Ledger editorial board, breaking new ground on lying in a transparent attempt to cover up for ISIS.

The Star Ledger has been the premier liberal rag in my state for as long as there have been fleas on dogs. It has an equal nasty little liberal cousin in southern Jersey called The Asbury Park Press(owned by The Gannett news Org.).

This editorial is as extreme a form of propaganda as anything seen in the most despotic regimes of the past. Read a few articles from, e.g., Signal, and compare. This editorial is worse.

Actually, I had thought about that, it’s an excellent point, DP..

Seems that would point Sen. Cruz on the horns of a dilemma.

I would hope that he will filibuster it- just for a sufficient time to expose the practice- by identifying each of the pork projects- and naming names. And thus showcase to the American citizens the systemic corruption in DC.

And the climate change people are indeed flat-earthers, or Lysenkoists at best.

claims ISIS is "literally nailing Christians to trees" (not true)

Is there any actual evidence of execution by nailed crucifixion, as opposed to display of a dead body tied to a cross?

I think we know who the left fears big time. Think they would write an editorial like this about Jeb?

"How many idiotorials has this editor written about the hypocrisy of Barack H. Obama or Hillary R. Clinton?"

The editorial board is trying to rally the obamatron bend-over doll axis.

I wonder if the idiotor who wrote this screed ever challenged Dead Red Ted Kennedy who said that Abu Ghraib had simply reopened under new management (implying that the GIs were lopping off hands, disemboweling wives before their husbands, raping the women and daughters in Hussein's rape rooms, etc.).

He is as solid as Reagan, CC. But, the times are so different. Back then, the push for centralized federal government was muted to a significant degree by the presence of the USSR.

If the USSR hadn’t collapsed, Bill Clinton would never have become president- nor Barrack Obama. Much of the current nonsense we have, would never have even been entertained.

But, now where already over the line of socialism— Cruz has a much bigger task.

He compares climate activists to flat-Earthers

Actually they are worse, at least flat earthers actually believed the earth was flat, while these global warming hoaxsters are perpetrating a fraud to push their agenda.

blames President Obama for the 2008 economic crash

I think Obama is partly to blame for the 2008 crash, because many people paniced when it became apparent an American hating socialist might actually become president. And I blame him 100% for making everything much worse ever since by pushing the same old failed socialist policies that always fail.

claims ISIS is “literally nailing Christians to trees” (not true)

um... the author is sadly missinformed or hopes most people wont spend 10 seconds to search for the truth on google

here is a link to MANY pictures of the crucifictions:

https://reclaimourrepublic.wordpress.com/2014/07/10/video-isis-crucifies-young-men-for-leaving-the-peaceful-religion-of-islam-coming-to-usa/

asserts that cities with the toughest gun control laws have the most crime

um.. here are the top 10 most dangerous cities in America:

1 - Detroit
2 - St. Louis
3 - Oakland
4 - Memphis
5 - Birmingham
6 - Atlanta
7 - Baltimore
8 - Stockton
9 - Cleveland
10 - Buffalo

I don’t see any Republican controlled cities on that list, which means they all have pretty strict gun laws. Liberal cities = more dangerous is what I see.

estimates there are “111,000 agents” at the IRS (missed by a factor of 10)

um.. wrong again there Eienstein !

http://www.ask.com/business-finance/many-people-work-irs-b5036a89181e618e

quote The Information Please Database indicates that 92,033 people worked for the Internal Revenue Service in 2007. The number of people employed by the IRS has declined over the years; in the 1990s, the number of people employed by the agency averaged above 110,000

and believes that George Soros is plotting to shut down golf courses throughout the U.S

lol... ok now your just making crap up.

Sorry, total fail on your attempt to smear Cruz.

Better luck next time. I suggest an easier target like Bush.
