THE facility spread out below him, row after row of neatly aligned white tin roofs, looking like candies set against the endless beige of the desert floor. It was called Camp Bucca. To coalition forces in Iraq, it was the primary detention facility for enemy prisoners of war.
To Mitchell Gray, then 48 and serving his country for the third time, it was simply the place where the US Army had decided his skills, which included a law degree and a fluency in Arabic, were needed most.
He and the rest of his unit, the 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma National Guard, were flying helicopters in from Kuwait. It was shortly after landing that he got a first glimpse at a few of the 26,000 detainees, staring at him from the other side of the concertina wire.

Didn’t need a camp.
During the war the Left was spinning fast and loose with manufactured anti-american propaganda.
Photos for porn sites as “evidence” that GIs were raping Iraqi women.
Staged photos of a British soldier urinating on a man (who was not a prisoner and neither were actually deployed to the middle east).
A newly released Defense Department intelligence report shows that the rise of the savage terror group known as ISIS was actually deliberate policy.ISIS Origins Traced to U.S. Prison in Iraq
It is now being reported that the Islamic State terrorist group, sometimes known as ISIS or ISIL, was actually born, radicalized, and nurtured inside an American prison in Iraq dubbed Camp Bucca.ISIS: The Best Terror Threat U.S. Tax Money Can Buy
ISIS, the throat-cutting, children-murdering Islamist terrorist organization that is taking over large segments of Iraq and Syria, owes its beginning to the U.S. government.
The disease of Islam and the worldwide tacit acceptance of it as a legitimate religion is what created ISIS, ISIL or whatever they call madness and insanity nowadays.

“The camp was divided into compounds of roughly 1,000 inmates. The Americans knew Sunnis and Shiites, the two main factions of Islam in Iraq, could not be incarcerated in the same compound if the camp was to remain peaceful.”
Here is one of the many problems and one of the reasons ISIS exists. Not because of the camp. These two groups have been warring with each other for centuries no end. Also read my long standing tagline. That’s the real reason you have all the hatred, death, torture, etc. in the Middle East. It’s too easy and too “neat” to blame the existence of ISIS on a camp. ISIS is an inevitable creation of ISLAM as a religion. And it’s not the first time this has happened.
And we can thank presidential candidate, Rand Paul, for spreading this lie.
Camp Bucca was probably the best alternative to handling the problem of military detainees at the time. It was fairly well executed given the information the U.S. military had at the time. It was a decent balance of cost-benefit and it was transparent to those interested. In retrospect, was it perfect? No. But does anyone think that the U.S. would have footed the bill for the perfect solution? Absolutely not.
Lots of Monday morning quarterbacking in his article after the fact.
Sort of like Baltimore. The peaceful ghetto dwellers were being mis treated by the evil white racist cops.
Military gone in Iraq...problem solved? No! Much worse because that is who the are.
Police gone in Baltimore...peace and love reign...dont think so.
