A woman was under arrest Friday, accused of murder for striking and running over a motorcyclist on a busy San Diego highway at rush hour.
Imperial Beach resident Darla Renee Jackson, 26, was driving a black Nissan Altima northbound on Interstate 5 near E Street in Chula Vista at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said Jackson and a man on a red Ducati motorcycle got into some type of disagreement on the roadway.
After the two drivers transitioned from I-5 to eastbound State Route 54 and passed National City Boulevard, Jackson hit the Ducati from behind and ran over the rider, CHP officers said.

They started a tribute page on Facebook for him. I saw her and she’s either white or Hispanic tattooed freak.
One quoted the woman's mother as saying it was an accident. Another, at this link says the driver fled the scene.
I wasn't there but leaving the scene doesn't bode well for the perp. And the police probably have something on which to make the charge of murder, perhaps a witness account.
At a minimum, it should be Murder 2, and she might well be charged that way. But I'd bet serious money that she'll be offered - and will take - a plea bargain for voluntary manslaughter.

According to her inmate booking sheet, she’s 5’ 2” and white. She’s booked on 1st deg. murder.

For every story you have, there are stories that drivers can talk about the crotch rocketeers driving on the lane lines or shoulders and whipping and weaving through traffic not caring if someone they can’t see is about to make a lane change.
I think with the way people drive today, and certain folks in particular, if you care about your life, you put some metal in between you and other drivers. Life expectancy goes up significantly.

I just spent a week in San Diego and one thing that still unnerves me is to have a motorcycle riding the lane line go by me at 20-30mph faster than the stream of traffic. It scares me...and I worry about seeing someone go down in front of me..or hitting one changing lanes. I witnessed an accident just outside the Pt. Loma Navy Base where a motorcycle hit a left turner when he cut around a stopped car. He ended up in a couple pieces and it wasn’t pretty. I will pray for this Chief and hope that this circus lady spends a lot of time in prison.
Back in the 1970s the son of a friend of my mother, a young man in his 20s, was riding his motorcycle on a San Diego freeway when a man began pursuing him in his car until he drove him off the freeway—he crashed and was killed. I don’t know what happened to the driver of the car but I was told that some of the witnesses were upset enough to give statements to the police, so maybe he was prosecuted.
