One woman was hospitalized and another arrested after a fight over the last rib at a backyard barbecue turned violent.
The fight broke out on North Turner Street in Muncie on Sunday night. Officers got a call about a stabbing around 7 p.m., in the midst of a large family barbecue.
According to a police report obtained by the Muncie Star Press, a woman told police she had been stabbed in the eye with a fork by Sabrina Davis, a family friend.
She was upset that Davis was taking the last rib from the kitchen, an officer said in the report. (She) then confronted Davis about taking all the food.
During the confrontation, the victim said Davis was using a fork to take meat from a pan when she turned and used the fork to stab her in the eye.
That victim was taken to the hospital for lacerations and a swollen eye and later released.
Davis told officers she was acting in self-defense, after the victim pulled out a knife during the argument.
Davis states she stabbed (the victim) in the eye so she wouldnt stab her with the knife, the officer said.
The story quickly became the talk of the town, as it hit the front page of the paper Wednesday. One neighbor told FOX59 she went to buy a newspaper so she could see it herself.
I usually get the paper to read it but today was special, so I thought Id go out and buy one, that neighbor said.
A woman at the house where the fight happened called it embarrassing. Neighbors agreed the entire ordeal was unfortunate and went too far.
It was just so ridiculous.
Barbecues good and all that, but its not worth sticking somebody in the eye with a fork, you know? a neighbor said.
I correctly guessed “Holder’s people” before I ever clicked on the link.
Tribal halfwits.
Maybe it was so good that she considered it a tribute to move up from a sharp stick in the eye to a fork in the eye.
Bizarre.
It's for the side dishes; slaw, baked beans, ribeye...
LOL, ribeye, excellent
I love it... Because, you know, there ARE certain times people need to be stuck in the eye with a fork, but over good barbeque? Hmm... Lemme see... Well, no... no I don't think that would quite rate it, come to think of it...
The .470 Nitro Express is a cartridge developed in England for very large or dangerous game hunting. This cartridge is used almost exclusively in single shot and double express rifles for hunting in the tropics or hot climate. It is in wide use in the Southern and Central-East African region, favored by hunting guides,
...........primarily while out for Cape buffalo and elephant.
Seems like a very appropriate choice. LOL
They want you to think that the assault was about a rib, when in fact it was about a fat effing pig with a room temperature IQ and a bad attitude.
She took, “stick a fork in it” a bit too far.
A couple years ago, one guy stabbed another over a piece of fried chicken. No need to look at the picture.

Five years ago, two brothers got into it over fried chicken - “Tony whacked Thomas with the crowbar three times before Thomas got hold of a snow shovel and scared Tony away. Tony faces charges felonious assault, domestic violence and menacing. As for the mystery of the chicken? The mother, 57, who admitted she ate the chicken, called 911.”

LOL...
Same thought. getting a hand any where near her plate would be a dangerous move. That fighter hasn’t missed a meal since the Clinton administration.
“Who eats ribs with a fork?”
Not a chance that ham planet used anything but a shovel.
That’s just beyond crazy.
I literally laughed out loud. Nicely done. Happy Friday sir.
And a great weekend to you!
