He flashed gang signs in selfies, posted a photo of a Smith & Wesson on his Facebook page, and had a rap sheet even a veteran street gangster could be proud of. And now hes been murdered at age 14.
Bronx seventh-grader Christopher Duran was stalked and gunned down on a sidewalk near his Bronx home Friday morning the victim, cops believe, of gang violence. He was a gangbanger, one law-enforcement source said of Christopher, a child known in his Morrisania neighborhood as already well on the road to doom when he was shot dead. He terrorized the neighborhood, said a woman who passed by the grim crime scene. Christopher is no good, another neighbor said. I saw him fighting last summer in the street, the man said. We told them to quit fighting, but he would not listen. The person he was fighting wanted to quit, but he wouldnt quit. Christopher had been walking to school with his little brother just a few paces from his Sheridan Avenue doorstep when his killer who had been lying in wait with a lookout posted down the block pulled a gun. As the little brother watched, the gunman pumped a single bullet into Christophers neck, sources said.
The gunman then stood over the youths prone body and blasted away some more, striking the boy multiple times in the torso before he and the lookout both fled. Christopher was pronounced dead where he lay, in a pool of blood amid eight shell casings cast from a .45-caliber pistol, according to sources. The boys older brother is a very active leader in a notorious and violent gang known as 280, law-enforcement said. Police do not suspect that Christopher was mistaken for his brother.

No mother deserves to go through that." No they don't. But every mother, and father have an obligation to teach them right from wrong, even if it means giving them the Toya Graham treatment.
Sounds like someone carried out the trash. Perhaps his big brother will retaliate, and more trash will be ready for the landfill.
This dude was so evil, he didn’t even merit the usual comments about being on the cusp of turning his life around.
no soapbox dery for this kid...
“a very active leader in a notorious and violent gang known as 280..”
ive heard of their competition... the Lords Of The Flies
Only robbed little old ladies on Sundays.
Actually, many mothers deserve to go through that. If you don’t model moral behaviour and aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to raise your children up right, you deserve this.
Was just turning his life around, I’ll bet.
That quote was about his older brother.
Neighbor says he’s a bad kid because of fighting? No kid had to fight more than me being a Yankee kid from Kalispell, MT. moving to Louisiana. Many, many dozens. Possibly a hundred. Bullies like to bleed. Still, the good thing about the streets is their self-cleaning nature. Another thug down.
ah, okay!
In a by gone time this kid could have been taken to a rural farm or ranch and taught lessons to grow into a productive member of society.
Five arrests before turning 15 is hardly beings a “good kid.”
The Bronx! Well I see there is a great organization by the name “Clinton Crime Family Foundation”. I’m sure they will help the family through this period.
PS. I thought guns were illegal in NY? OOOOH, that’s right! Only the good citizens can’t have one.
SOmetimes they get the “respect” they deserve.
Good riddance!
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said.
Sounds like he crossed the wrong person.
Ah the thug life...
He was a good boy....everything he stole he gave to his mother.
Pretty sad. Christopher was probably Hispanic/black or Hispanic/non-Hispanic white. Mama had clearly lost control - but she probably never felt it was her job in the first place, since every poor person in NYC is told that it is really the job of the City to bring up your kids, clean your house, and pay your way in life...
Socialist culture has probably killed more people than the number who died in the Vietnam War.
Good.
