Freedom OF Religion is being altered by leftist in government, the courts, and leftist”civil rights” organizations into Freedom From Religion. This is something the Founders never intended. The only reason to push removal of God from the Public square is so as to place the State as the center of worship.

A few weeks ago the Department of Education threatened to withhold funding for any public school that did not protect the rights of transgender students. I believe schools should be held to the same standard for religious students.

Good luck with that.

She should have used Mohammed or Satan. I’m pretty sure the teacher wouldn’t have said a word and would be beaming with joy.

This one is borderline. It is a technology class. The very definition of technology is “The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes.”

In this case, the teacher erred by not saying that students should use an inspirational message *from* science or technology. So yes, it was the teacher’s fault, because inspiration comes from a vast number of sources, with religion leading the pack.

Even if the teacher had discarded other inspirational messages, be they from sports, politics, art and literature, etc., they still would be wrong for not being specific in the assignment.

As things are now, the teacher comes across as a jerk, shunning a cross, in hate and fear, like Count Dracula.

(N.B.: increasing numbers of anti-Christian atheists are behaving this way, freaking out at the very sight of a religious symbol. This is an interesting phenomenon.)

Why is Mackenzie Fraser even in public school? If her parents are willing to abuse her by putting her in the government day prison then what on earth is their beef about Christianity or anything else? they turn their child over to the government, the child is going to get what the government is giving. If you don’t want that for your child then don’t put your child in the midst of it.

This is easy.
Remove your child from this ANTI CHRIST School, and Home School.
Any political who suppurates this school, vote against them, and vote every school board member out of office.
We do NOT have to put up with this ASSAULT on FREEDOM OF RELIGION ! ! !

The Townhall column did not mention the name of the Somerset Academy teacher, Kelsey Jardine, or the assistant principal, Jenyan Martinez, who aided and abetted the teacher in their attack against the student's First Amendment rights.

The Liberty Institute May 20, 2015, letter to Somerset Acadrmy officials discusses the student's First Amendment rights. The letter also includes the "demand that, within ten (10) days of this letter, Somerset Academy issue a written apology to Mackenzie Fraiser and permit her to re-submit her original presentation, inclusive of the expression of her religious beliefs. Absent such written apology and assurance that students in Somerset Academy may express their religious beliefs in their school assignments, our client is prepared to take legal action against Somerset Academy, seeking all appropriate and available relief in order to preserve Mackenzie’s constitutional and statutory rights under federal and Nevada law."

According to a May 22 FoxNews report: UPDATE: Somerset Academy issued a formal written apology to 12-year-old Mackenzie Fraiser late Friday for denying her the right to use a Bible verse in a class assignment. School officials have now agreed to allow the sixth-grader to resubmit her original project, this time with her favorite Bible verse -- John 3:16 -- included."

Had this happened to one of my children or grandchildren, the teacher, and everyone in the "education" hierarchy above her -- all the way to the State level, if appropriate -- would receive the following from my attorney:

"Re [Student]'s slide dealing with Scriptural inspiration:

STET!

Otherwise, we will all meet in court -- with each of you, personally, named as defendants."

Mr. and Mrs. Frazier, if you really have Christian faith, you would never put your kids in public school (even a charter school). You would homeschool them.

Yes, your lifestyle might decrease, a bit... you might have to give up that new Mercedes every year, but it us worth it. Even you, as the parent, can learn from it.

**“Government officials telling little girls they can’t mention God is not the law,” said Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford. “It’s unlawful discrimination and it’s morally wrong.”**

One to follow for I believe the girl and her family will win this case.
