A day after Josh Duggar apologized amid allegations that he molested several underage girls while he was a teenager, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee criticized “those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins.”
“Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable,’ ” Huckabee said in a statement posted on Facebook Friday. “He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story.”

Maybe a presidential candidate should just zip it, with regard to commenting on a still unfolding story about reality TV show people in trouble??? Just a thought. Why the need to comment at all???

Frankly this is why I don’t get all excited about conservative reality show stars. I wouldn’t know a Duggar if I met one and despite owning a couple of Duck Dynasty t-shirts, I’ve never seen the show.
If they were boys and he came out as trans-whatever, this would not be in the news as a bad thing.
The Duggars are from Arkansas, so they may all be friends. But he should keep his mouth shut.

Ditto! Certainly no fan of the Huckster, but this response was perfect. It doesn't get any better, and kudos to him for standing with them. Still won't be voting for him, but kudos nonetheless.
The Duggars have endorsed him, and now he is standing by them in their time of need.
And the mom and dad and all the older kids are on FB and Twitter and the like, talking about every aspect of their daily lives (well except for the molestation part).
They seek and bask in the spot light and the publicity and seem to love it when it shows them the way they want to be seen.
Now that very bad things that Josh did to his sisters have come to light they can’t say “turn off the cameras and give us some privacy”.
Maybe Gov. Huckabee knows something about how to beat Hillary since he beat the Clintons once before at the height of their power.
I am longing for a man with the courage to stand against the liberal media and just speak some truth.
And Huckabee wouldn’t be defending it, either.
The TV show may be called “reality” but it’s only entertainment.
How long have the Duggars been on TV? Were they in the “public eye” when the molestations occurred?
