NEW YORK— The national president of the Boy Scouts of America, Robert Gates, said Thursday that the organization’s longstanding ban on participation by openly gay adults is no longer sustainable, and called for change in order to avert potentially destructive legal battles.
In a speech in Atlanta to the Scouts’ national annual meeting, Gates referred to recent moves by Scout councils in New York City and elsewhere to defy the ban.
“The status quo in our movement’s membership standards cannot be sustained,” he said.
Gates said no change in the policy would be made at the national meeting. But he raised the possibility of revising the policy at some point soon so that local Scout organizations could decide on their own whether to allow gays as leaders.

A Christian based group called “American Heritage” started due to the Girls Scouts ‘going pro-abortion, LGBT, etc’. They have a group at our church.
I was a Girl Scout Cadet and I loved the organization- but times have changed and I will no longer support the GS and I won’t buy their cookies.
I imagine an alternative will be formed for the Boy Scouts for Christians.
There is one, I think it’s called “Trailblazers”. It’s the boy version of American Heritage Girls.

From here on out, I’ll certainly have no sympathy for any parents who wind up with molested children in the Boy Scouts. The parents asked for it, by handing them over like fresh meat to the perverts.
But I do hope said parentes get mad enough and sue the BSA into abject financial oblivion. The organization has damned itself to Hell.
That would be the end of the Scouts. They can’t afford all the lawsuits resulting from homosexual rape of the kids.
Was the victim pool shrinking? I guess new hunting grounds were needed.

I fail to understand this. Are there a dhortade of straight men wanting to participate? Who actually thinks its a good idea to knowingly allow homos access to their children?

It’s the only thing that is going to make people wake up. I pity and weep for all the children that will come under the influence and abuse of these mentally ill men.
There are some good people that are Mormons, and the Mormons are mainstream in some respects. However, the Mormons are proving not to be friends of defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. They want marriage redefined to open the door to their old customs. They have worked to quietly undermine the “morally straight” teaching of scouts as part of their larger agenda.
The BSA national office is supported largely by donations from corporations. Accordingly, they will dance to the tune called by their donors.
Gates has elected to destroy an outstanding youth organization so as to hold on to his cushy job. A pox on him.
