He was making the point how easy it is to break in.
There are some sketchy ass home alarm companies out there. Door to door sales of something as important as home security isn’t something I would buy into, but I have seen these (not from this company, but others like it) teams of security system salespeople going unsolicited door to door, selling a system that I’d never heard of, and it all stank of overpriced door to door vacuum salesmen selling $1500 vacuums on credit that I used to encounter in the 1990s.
“he forced his way into her home to talk about burglar alarms”
Ok, there’s irony and then there’s this. lol
Had a couple of women come to my door one time wanting to discuss selling me a burglar alarm, I said not interested and she said “I see you have a sign by your front door and stickers on windows indicating you already have a system” and then actually asked me what type of system I had. I said “it would be kinda dumb to provide that info dontcha think?” I then suggested they remove themselves from my property. Sad thing is, some people would probably provide the info and not think twice.
Why doesn’t he just use the Democrat method and say not buying a burglar alarm is racist/sexist/homophobic/Islamophobic?
You got to be one tough dude to work door to door sales in Marrero.
They don’t call it Murderero for nothing
Funny because it’s true.
The one around here has the home invader dressed up like he’s going to a backyard football game, complete with jersey.
Interestingly, the mug shots in the paper all appear quite different from the ‘actor portrayals.’
Who answers the door bell anymore? Stunningly dangerous, stupid thing to do. At least, without a pistol with the safety off.
The lady of the house dodged a bullet, so to speak.
The ONLY time, thank God, I’ve ever had to point my rifle at a person (which I have since lost in a boating accident) was on a door to door salesman.
You know the type. A van will drop off kids from out of town to go knocking door to door to sell scam magazine subscriptions or cleaning supplies. One of these guys would NOT take “no” for an answer and stuck his foot in the door when I tried to close it. Big mistake. Mr. Mossberg doesn’t take kindly to strangers.
If you LIKE your home alarm system, you can KEEP your home alarm system (or lack thereof)...we promise!
Or...
...don’tcha see? There are MILLIONS of people without home alarm systems, everyone needs one, it’s a human RIGHT (not a tax...unless John Roberts says it is)...it’s for the children!! Do ya hate children?!?
I had a guy come by the house and knock on the door. He was holding a ADT sign that looked like it had been pulled from a yard. He was offering to sell me a system similar to ADT.
I told him I don’t buy things from people who ignore “No Soliciting” signs like the one he passed when he drove into the private neighborhood.
(which I have since lost in a boating accident)
Me too. Amazing.
That’s great.
Our local police actually advise to not answer the door unless you positively know who is on the other side of it in advance. Deliveries should be scheduled and verified in advance also.
I’ve found that 9 out of 10 people going door to door have no idea what the word soliciting means.
