Three rival motorcycle gangs turned a local restaurant into a shooting gallery Sunday afternoon and when the gunfire was over, nine people were dead and several were injured.
Waco police Sunday afternoon, assisted by Department of Public Safety troopers, police officers from several cities and deputies from the McLennan County Sheriff's Office were surrounding the Twin Peaks Restaurant, in the Central Texas Market Place after several people were reported shot during a rival motorcycle gang fight, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Police and troopers were in the parking lot trying to secure the area and protect citizens when a fight broke out inside the restaurant and spilled into the parking lot. Swanton said the fight quickly escalated from fists and feet to chains, clubs and knives, then to gunfire. Gang members were shooting at each other and officers at the scene fired their weapons, as well, Swanton said.
The scene at the Market Place between Don Carlos and Twin Peaks was absolute chaos, Swanton said.
The victims were taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center, which later was placed on lock down, but officials at Hillcrest said they had no comment.
He also said police have been trying to work with management at Twin Peaks for several weeks but have been thwarted in their efforts to avoid a situation like happened Sunday afternoon.
A witness who was having lunch across the parking lot at Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant said he and his family had just finished eating and walked into the parking lot when they heard several gunshots and saw wounded being taken from the fight scene.
"We crouched down in front of our pick-up truck because that was the only cover we had," the man, who asked not to be identified, said.

I just saw this too.

'Nine bicycle gang members...'
Bicycle? Bicycle? That sure as hell isn't going to help...
That bike looks like my shovel head super glide. Like to have it back.
In a pic on another thread saw one wearing colors of “Scimitars”
I knew a David lynch in High school, but other that nope...
Nine dead and many wounded. These guys are on target. The NYCPD fired over 100 rounds and hit the perp 8 times. Maybe the bikers need to school the NYCPD.
Everybody wins in criminal-on-criminal violence. I say, arm both sides and grab popcorn.
What is the restaurant to do? Throw them out and face lawsuits and the ACLU protesting in their parking lot? It is a lose-lose situation. If they aren’t doing anything illegal you can’t toss them and you know eventually something like this will happen.
LOLZ!!!
did you get a screenshot? It’s changed now
Ah. Totally bizarre murder mystery. Pilot episode and two TV seasons.
“What is the restaurant to do? Throw them out and face lawsuits and the ACLU protesting in their parking lot? It is a lose-lose situation. If they arent doing anything illegal you cant toss them and you know eventually something like this will happen.”
Exactly. I was at a Bikinis restaurant in Arlington once when a biker gang came in. About Twenty of them. Didn’t cause a stir.
From the pictures I’ve seen, probably a mix of whites and Tejanos. I think two colors there were Vaqueros and Scimitar. Some say one of the clubs were the Kossacks.
Interesting.
I was too busy laughing to think about it...I didn’t think NBC employed anyone intelligent enough to catch it...live and learn.
“Mexican bikers? Wheels of Soul? Amish?”
Most likely white guys.
If so, can we put a racial spin on these murders, or is such violence immune from the race card being dealt?
I can’t believe the authorities won’t release names of the gangs involved. The local chapter of Banditos in my old hometown dissolved. For the most part the only crimes they got caught for was drunk driving and having sex with minors. There were definitely a lot of groupies and supporters, but the local sheriff took to getting his guys to show up half way through their group rides and hitting them for drunk biking.
Southern Baptist vs. Methodist vs. Amish bikers I guess.
I just copied the link. I wish I would have read that.
