Starbucks app fail leads to manager's epic YouTube meltdown
CNET ^

Ahead of me might be someone who's desperate to be modern and pay with their Starbucks app. They wave it at the scanner. It doesn't work. They wave it again. It still doesn't work. Then they poke at their phone. They wave it again. Finally a beep.

My regular baristas, Kurshina and Marie, have patience coursing through their veins. I, however, mutter through gritted gums: "Wouldn't it have been easier to pay cash?"

It seems that such a scenario might have played a part in one of the more spectacular customer service angerfests of the year. This one was at a Starbucks in Queens, NY.

No, she isn’t working for Starbucks. Read the column in which the video was embedded.

Great post. “GIVE ME THE STRAW!” LOL!

“Wouldn’t it have been easier to pay cash?”

This is just a warm up to the “soon to be” cashless society.

I used to think waiting for people writing a check was bad. But that's nothing compared to waiting for one of the nation's clueless trying to use a debit card. Or worse, a food stamp card that's 2¢ short.

What really annoys me are these clowns who swipe a card and still clueless on how the machine works. I;ve seen countless nimrods asks “what is this PIN?” and everyone’s blood pressure skyrockets.

Regardless of what you use to pay for your item, beware of the receipt. After reading the above article, I went to the local post office to mail a package. She handed me my receipt and I told her of the possible threat to her health handling all those receipts everyday. She informed me that the US Postal service had already changed their receipts.

The reasons people use cash have nothing to do with whether the government allows them to use it.

Just as the reasons people get married has nothing to do with whether the government allows them to get married.
