Ahead of Mitt Romney's charity boxing match with former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, the former Massachusetts governor said he'd be "staying far away from his ears."
"Will you make like Mike Tyson and attempt to feast on Holyfields ear?," a New York Times reporter asked this week. Special: Doctor: Magnesium 'Miracle' Cure for Migraines "Im staying far away from his ears. I dont for a moment want for him to confuse me with anyone from his past," Romney joked back. "I will get in Evanders face with compliments and good humor. I want to keep him very happy and very friendly."
The Friday night fight is set to benefit Charity Vision, an organization that provides sight-restoration surgery for people in very poor countries, and the two-time presidential contender conveyed in his interview that he's quite happy to take it on the chin.
He said his son has given him the new boxer nickname "The Glove," which is a pun on "Mitt," and that that he expects "to be beaten but unbowed." Special: New Probiotic Fat Burner Takes GNC by Storm Josh Romney, Mitt's son, said that the Utah event will be black-tie like a normal charity gala, and that attendees can partake in hors d'oeuvres while they watch the slugfest.
Lucky for the governor, the bout has been set up for only three rounds of fighting.
Romney also said he was "affectionately known as Bird Legs during high school," and is "very pleased that Under Armour has agreed to sponsor the bout. They have graciously sent me their apparel items, which I will avail myself of."

Does that apply to Holyfield, or is he thinking back to the 2012 campaign?
I still haven’t figured this one out, this is not Romney like, it just doesn’t fit who he has been for 69 years.
Mormon suicide
Liberal response to this exhibition:
“Romney is punching a BLACK GUY, he’s racist!”
Romney is becoming a younger Bob Dole.
I just looked into it a little to see if I would find what it might be.
Everything that Romney does that seems nice, or for charity, is related to his becoming a god in the Mormon religion, and this is a Utah based charity, I’m guessing that this is related to Mormonism in some way.
Let’s just hope he dosent get Applo Creeded
Here it is, it is Mormonism.
His son Josh is the president of Charity Vision International.
Holyfield’s big comeback?
Oh yeah, that charity for the prevention of blindness is eeeeevil. Can’t have damn Mormons engaged in any good works, people might think well of em.
Perhaps you should avail yourself of the charity’s services.
That was a twisted little rant, venom filled nonsense.
The topic is Mitt Romney.
It turns out that it is the same as all of his “charity”, it is part of his earning godhood.
Everything he does related to charity and good deeds, is actually Mormonism, it is never for non-Mormons.
They couldn’t pay me to watch this idiocy.
Romney’s political record was 1-3. He lost running once for senate and twice for president. Would have lost if he’d attempted re-election as guv, too.
But he’s never been an honest pol.
You say: That was a twisted little rant, venom filled nonsense.
You must be referring to this sentence:
“Everything that Romney does that seems nice, or for charity, is related to his becoming a god in the Mormon religion, and this is a Utah based charity, Im guessing that this is related to Mormonism in some way.”
You can’t see past the hard-on you have for Mormons to the good that so many of them do. Just stuff it.
That statement of fact isn’t a rant, nor venom filled, it is merely an accurate description.
All of Bishop Romney’s good deeds and charity has always been for Mormon institutions and individuals, and all in service to his religion which teaches him that he is on a path to become a God, this Utah charity for instance has as it’s president Josh Romney, Mitt’s son, and Mitt’s wife sits on the board.
You need to be able to recognize simple facts about a liberal, pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-Romneycare/Obamacare, Reagan hating politician.
