Jeb Bush found himself on defense after his town hall meeting in Reno, Nevada yesterday after a young voter told him, your brother created ISIS.
Ivy Ziedrich, a 19-year-old student at University of Nevada who said she was a registered Democrat, approached Bush after the event and told the likely presidential candidate he was wrong about the origins of the terror group...
Ziedrich said she is a member of the Young Democrats at her university although in an interview with ABC News yesterday she said she was not speaking as a representative of the group. She said she likes to attend political events across the ideological spectrum so she can be as informed as possible. She said she did not intend to come across as hostile in her exchange with Bush, which occurred after the town hall meeting had concluded. She added that she respects Bush as a politician.

Well Hillary went opposite of what most College kids do. Hillary started off a Republican and turned liberal. A good majority of liberals turn Republican by 30. Not all but some.
But it is true George helped destabilize the region going after his fathers demons....But what about all the yellowcake given to Canada, the weapons of Mass destruction found and the chemical manufacturing found a reported on by the MSM? What about the reports of the VA who wouldn’t treat exposed Veterans? Read up my friend.
Allah (aka Satan) created ISIS.
What’s wrong with higher education?... Dumb kids getting ‘A+’s from dumb professors.
Yeah! and GWB created Al Queda too! And OBL! He is responsible for all of the world’s ills!
Since when does someone that was 4 on 9-11 get to speak with any credibility?
What makes you say that?
We dont need any candidates that are not prepared for stupid left wing questions or statements like this.
ISIS is just another form of Sunni Islamist that want to dominate the globe. Be it Al Qaeda - Moslem Brotherhood - Hamas -— the same goal is there. The only thing that Bush could have done was “expose” the true nature of Islam...what the goals are - what they plan to do with non-believers - etc...that in my view - is that he did us all a BIG favor!
If he had any savvy, he would have said Thats a very understandable question and something Ive given a lot of thought to and... then debunk her question and assumptions with some well thought-out responses. He could have used Free Republic to help him prep for his answers in advance if his advisors didn’t have them.
He looked like a fool while he was fumbling to try to compose himself.
Young Democrats = Low and Misinformed
Still waiting for tickets to democrat unicorn ranch.
I agree with the old adage that when your young you tend to be more Liberal and as you get older you get wiser and more Conservative.
This girl is obviously a die-hard. I’m not convinced she’ll see the light.
As for Hillary, she was led astray in her senior year of high-school. Her Republican parents allowed her to do some inner city charity work, and she was turned by a leftist involved with the program. (I don’t remember the story as clearly as I’d like, but it was along these lines) By the time she hit college, she was a devout Leftist.
In my youth, I grew up during the Leftist movements. I took one look at them and knew I could never be a Democrat. They stood with our enemies.
Congress fought on the side of Vietnam. Once Johnson proved he couldn’t run a war effort, the Democrats were determined to prove the Republicans couldn’t either.
IMO, the Democrats of that time cost tens of thousands of our young men their lives.
For this reason, I skipped the Leftist propensity in my youth.
Will she be the New Julia ,that prototype of a young woman, dependent on the govt. for everything?
Or will she become the New Sandra Fluke after a fake rape accusation gets her invited to the MSM news shows?
Or will she embrace her rage, and become a “Mini-Me” for Fauxahontas?
Just seeing her my libdar went went to full pegged to Lib LIV! Poor thing!
Years after W left office, I was amazed how everyone was still blaming him for problems in the world. At this point, I am convinced the libs will be blaming bush well in the 22nd century... it’s their only play.
Ah, nineteen-year-olds. Is there anything they don’t know?
Frankly her questions weren’t understandable at all.
They was based on beliefs that weren’t true. You can’t say the questions are understandable if thy aren’t based on reality.
They are not understandable at all, and here are the reasons why...
While I do believe Bush looked frustrated waiting for an opening to respond, I don’t think he looked foolish.
If you interrupt you’re accused of mistreating her.
If you say her premises are all false, you get accused of being dismissive.
If you lecture her about what the real situation was, once again you’re guilty of talking down to her.
And if you explain that Iraqis were not a part of the formulation of ISIS, she’s simply going to state oh yes they were, and the media will play only that sound byte.
Please link me to where the issue of Isis being formed out of former Iraqi troops is discussed on the forum. I’d like to review those talking points.
Oh, what a special little snowflake this geopolitical mastermind is.
He knew exactly what and who Hussein is. He had the position and the "standing" to prevent our nation's destruction, and did NOTHING!
It really is Bush's fault.
