The Washington establishment is terrified by grassroots conservatives who are powering Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% s (R-TX) presidential campaign with small-dollar donations.
In an interview from South Carolinas Freedom Summit that aired on Breitbart News Sunday, Cruz scoffed at a New York Times story that brushed off his chances of winning the GOP nomination because Cruz has done nothing to endear himself to the elites. Political scientists the Times interviewed after Cruz announced his candidacy in late March asserted that the single most important determinant of the outcome of the nomination is the support from party elites like donors, establishment officials and various special interest group leaders.

20 years from now Lindsey Graham will say how much he supported Ted Cruz.
They do everything they can to repress the grassroots, but when it’s wildly successful they leech off it for years.

He does seem to be edging toward 'inevitable' status.
Of course, that is fine by me, since I have an agenda and want to vote for a real conservative.
It's why I send money to the Cruz campaign.

Cruz picked up the ultimate GOPe insider guy in Saul Anuzis in Michigan. I don’t like or trust Anuzis but its a serious plus for Cruz to get the right people on his side.
Sounds like they’ve known each other for a few years.

Really?
1. No Republican is going to win the election without the support of the vast majority of those calling themselves Republican, including the GOP-E.
2. Don't confuse Cruz's acknowledgement of this fact with being a primary factor in the direction of his policy positions.

The next statement in the article:
Cruz told Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon that he thought the whole point of the campaign was running against Washingtons bipartisan permanent political class.

That reminds me...time to make a donation.

Donate to the candidate you like, not to the RNC (who just spend it on consultants who oppose true conservatives, as happened in states like Mississippi recently).

Former RNC Chairman Hayley Barbour, devoted funds to get-out-the-vote efforts for Senator Thad Cochran in Democratic communities in Mississippi (to oppose the true conservative in a runoff, Chris McDaniel). http://www.cbsnews.com/news/haley-barbour-group-funded-black-turnout-in-thad-cochran-reelection/

Personally speaking, it’s a little early for anyone to “fear” anybody. “Fear” does seem to stand out as the go-to phrase for us conservatives. Our candidate is always “feared” by the Left, or by other candidates, or by the media, or by the Establishment.
Right now the candidates are all plowing the ground to attract money and donors and have barely if at all begun to scratch the surface to get votes.
What I like best about Cruz is that he is our answer to the Rand Paul contingency in the R Party. Cruz is counter Establishment culture and everyone knows it.
He is also MUCH better at it than Rand Paul. The Libertarians have tilled some ground against the Establishment machine and we need to take advantage of it.
Remember how Romney and Rinse PreBus changed the rules to knock out gains of the Libertarians at the state conventions.

Guys like Barbour really do a number on our cause.
There was a time when I thought he was a pretty stand up guy. Boy was I wrong.

Cruz is an insider. He is supporting the globalist TPP which will do more to erode national sovereignty than any bill in the last 20 years. I’m not sure what paleo conservatives or Tea Party types see in this guy.
