Same experience here. I once stood in line waiting to pay at the local Dominick's grocery store behind a black woman with three unruly kids. She was yakking on the phone to one of her baby daddy's the entire time. Everything on the conveyer in front of me was food I cannot afford to buy. Yes, she paid with EBT cards. Her phone? The latest iPhone.
After she checked out, I paid for the four things I put on the conveyer, then left the store. As "luck" would have it she was parked down the same aisle I was. Out comes her key chain then "honk honk honk!" she goes to the back of a Cadillac Escalade (brand new, "license applied for") and the hatch automatically opens.
I work for a living. I bust my ass to take care of my family. I paid for her groceries, her iphone and her Cadillac Escalade. My phone? A $79 blackberry knock-off. My phone plan? A pay as you go purchase the minutes upfront. My vehicle? A 13 year old GMC Envoy. Why am I bothering to work and take care of my family instead of getting on the government welfare rolls getting my free food, free obamaphone and free caddy?? Because you'd need to supplement the government largesse with a crack-dealing business. It's likely how she did it.

What’s the record for one person owning multiple Obamaphones? Last count I saw was 39 but that was years ago.

Obamaphones are small cost to the taxpayers compared to EBT, SNAP, and other handouts propagated by the crony-marxist in the White Hut.

I think the program actually started under GW Bush.
Yes, that’s been discussed, at length, here on older threads. The program started under Bush, as limited phone types with very limited service (for truly emergency situations - what could go wrong with a government program like that?!).
0bie injected steroids to the program to insure all the right folks had access to the latest/greatest phones/technology (think social media access), just after taking office. Marching orders easily distributed - for all kinds of mayhem, er, important announcements.
Compliments of you and I.

So, not all of them are sponges and leeches,
and I suppose he would likely admit that not all of them aren’t sponges and leeches.
What percentage are and how do we cut them off?

Yes, that’s a biblical principle FROM GOD.
Sloth has consequences.
Sloth has a moral component.
Leftists hate the idea that a moral choice has consequences,
especially when the moral is defined by God,
and being in violation of that moral has real consequences.
This is why they do all they can to make moral people
alleviate the consequences of others’ immoral choices.

They might not need these freebies if they NEEDED jobs in order to eat, talk on the phone, and watch tv in the air conditioning.

What actually got me “mad” at some of the poor, is them calling into radio stations and saying people who work for a living are “suckers”.

I love how he tells other people what they think. He hasn’t a clue. It is not about deserving or not deserving. YOU HARM THEM BY MAKING THEM DEPENDENT. And you solve nothing. Plus legal theft is still theft. And freedom means the freedom to fail. You make bad choices, you get bad results.
I wonder if Obama is planning on keeping his daughters dependent forever or if he sees his parenting job to help them reach independence. AND THAT IS AS PARENT. The government is not everyone’s parent, even if the left would like it to be so. That’s why marriage and family matters. Families take care of their own kids so the rest of us can mind our own.
The left is always saying out of one side of their mouth, “mind your own business” and out of the other side of their mouth, “mind everybody else’s business.”

I know a woman who quit a good job in hospital maintenance. She got disability, ebt, an obama phone, etc. She now couch surfs and hangs out in a bar all day long. She is likeable, intelligent and quite capable. A system that lets people behave like this and continue to eat is an abomination.

“so many people think that the poor are underserving of help from the federal government”
BS. We resent the government putting a gun to our heads and and robbing us to “help the poor”. The fact that so many of those “poor” are criminals and scam artists is just a little extra frustration on top of our main complaint.
To: Vigilanteman
There is no such thing as temporary assistance. It IS all about gaming the system. Obama and Jarrett’s game is about overloading the system with more takers than givers. I think it’s about there. Recently I read that, I think it was 40% of EBT users are obese. I can understand why. When I’ve been behind in the checkout line, the carts are full of junk and sugary soft drinks.
To: Nachum
Obama loves the poor. That’s why he has made so many more people poor.
