If you are intent on convincing people there is no climate change, then the last thing you want is NASA — with all its heroism and accuracy — telling folks climate change is real. So, faced with this dilemma, climate denialist's have come up with a clever solution: Get NASA out of climate change science.
The House Science, Space and Technology Committee recently approved a bill that would cut at least $300 million from NASA's earth-science budget. This comes after the head of the Senate committee overseeing NASA claimed the agency should stop doing earth-science and focus only on space exploration.
Both these moves are part of a broader effort to hobble American science from doing its job in exploring the planet's climate.
So, when NASA tells us that Earth's climate is changing because of human activity, it carries a lot weight. It's a weight climate denialists have a hard time bearing up under.
Honestly, when it comes to getting the science of climate change right, who are you going to believe? A radio talk show host or NASA? The angry denialists in the comments section of this blog or NASA? The politician who says, "Well, I am not a scientist" or the scientists at NASA?
The answer is pretty clear.
That's why, if your goal is denying the climate science NASA has been doggedly revealing for decades, you have a real problem. You must convince Americans that either (a) NASA is lying or (b) NASA has gotten the answer wrong. Both are going to be a hard sell.

Climate Denialist = Objective Scientist
We all know that NASA’s primary mission is to make Islamic countries feel better about their lack of space programs.
After all the faked reports, wildly incorrect climate models and manipulated data that has been released on global warming, I no longer trust anyone who claims that global warming is caused by mankind. Especially those whose livelihood depends on anthropogenic global warming to be real. They’ll say whatever keeps the grant money coming in.
Does global warming exist at all? Not for the last 17 years or so. I actually expect us to continue cooling for another decade or so before we start heating back up.
Solar cycles determine our climate, not anything that man can do (short of massive thermonuclear war). So until we find a way to regulate the sun, we just have to adapt to climate change. (Our fathers called it by a simpler term “weather”)
Limiting a federal agency to its original charter? Blasphemy!
Argument from Authority. Liberals think the list of logical fallacies is an instruction manual on how to argue.

Hire a real physicist, please.
Your entire staff has the science capability of your president, Dorkbama.

No, it doesn't. It reveals how yet another once truth driven and merit based organization has become infected and has fallen.
Their tactic has worked well. The disease is now wide spread throughout the nation and all of the usual means for fighting it have been rendered ineffective.
Random chance is now our only hope in this stalemate for altering events and ultimately mass perception.
Sadly, the odds aren't great, but they are looking better.
Adam Frank, the “journalist” who penned this biased screed, calls himself an “evangelist of science”. Sounds like NPR is violating the separation of church and state.

There are many within NASA that aren’t convinced that AGW is “settled science”. They don’t get the same press coverage as the “settled science” proponents.

Easy to answer: the person who isn't asking for my tax dollars is the one I am more prone to believe.
Even Bob Dylan once sang in "Do Right to me Baby (Do Unto Others)" that HE didn't have faith in scientists.
