King Salman of Saudi Arabia has withdrawn from a carefully orchestrated summit with the US that President Barack Obama hoped would assuage Gulf anxieties about the conclusion of a nuclear agreement with Iran.
Until Sunday the monarch had been expected to join other heads of state from the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries at an unprecedented meeting at the White House and a day of talks at the presidential retreat at Camp David. Now the only leaders attending will be the emirs of Qatar and Kuwait.
The summit, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, follows months of tension and intensive US diplomacy designed to persuade Riyadh and its neighbours that Washington is not abandoning its Gulf allies in order to normalise relations with Iran.
Salman will be represented instead by the newly appointed Saudi crown prince, Muhammad bin Nayef, the darling of western countries and the first of the younger generation of Saudi royals to look likely to ascend the throne. The kings son, and Saudi defence minister, Muhammad bin Salman who is running the campaign of air strikes in Yemen will also be there.
Salmans refusal to attend the summit is doubly embarrassing for the White House because, just hours before the news broke, US officials were boasting of how significant his presence was. But officials insisted the last-minute cancellation was completely unrelated to the agenda of the meeting and were confident the Gulf delegation remained senior enough for a meaningful summit.

I wonder what obie will do to the King or his country? You know he always slaps back.
Poor Obutthole just can’t get any respect!

just one more person deciding why waste my time with this moe?
“I wonder what obie will do to the King or his country? You know he always slaps back.”
RiyadhMaidan?
The King of Bahrain also “Declined” to attend.
When both the Arabs and Jews hate your guts, you got serious issues.
Qutar is responsible financially for at least 1/3 of the jihadi misery we suffer in the US. Their leadership needs to be taken out.
Gee, I just can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to travel to Camp David to have Barry explain to your face why he's selling you and your people out.
I’d lay money that the refusing Kings have demanded that VJ be removed from her position.
I’d love to hear a conversation between two other leaders regarding Obozo. I’m sure they are yucking it up on the phone about how big of a joke he is.
A Saudi pulls out? That is unheard of since the days of King Saud.
Obama has no time for people that don’t revel in the glory and divinity of the Obama. Everything in Obama’s world exists solely to be used as a tool to further Obama’s revolution.
Is the American media and Political Class finally Waking Up to the threat of Qatar?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3236145/posts
...How do they get away with this behavior? Surely, a lack of public awareness about the tiny country is one reason. Most Americans have never heard of Qatar, and even fewer know how to pronounce its name cutter, or depending on the Arabic accent, gutter. And yes, anonymity is an asset to any criminal, especially a criminal regime.
But while anonymity only goes so far, a vast ocean of money goes much further. Qatar is, per capita, the richest country in the world (~$93,000 in 2013). With the globes third largest natural gas reserves (behind Russia and Iran), the less than 300,000 Qatari citizens have cash to burn.
...In fact, Qatars friends comprise a veritable Whos Who of the American (and even international) establishment. During the month of October, the Qatar Awareness Campaign, an ad hoc Coalition of concerned journalists, activists, publishers, and researchers published a letter each weekday, identifying American interests and individuals compromised by Qatari money and/or who toe the Qatari line. Many of the figures named might surprise you: Michael Bloomberg, ExxonMobil, Al Gore, John McCain, The Boeing Company, Miramax, the Chamber of Commerce, CNN, Harvard University, Bill and Hillary Clinton, FIFA, to name just a few.
Read the whole thread, you’ll be demanding a new large glass parking lot in the ME after doing so.
I have trouble trusting any of them.
Let me just throw this out there...
The reason the Iran deal is for ‘ten years’ is 10 yrs. is the length of time it takes to build and develop nuclear...... We cannot or will not, either way you want to look at it, stop Iran from it’s Nuclear ambitions..... What ‘we can and are doing’ is giving Saudi Arabia enough time to ‘counter Iran’ by Saudi building their own Nuclear Power, which is why they’re working with Pakistan now to do just that.
That is what this deal is about in a nut shell.
Obama is a very small cog in the wheel that's rolling....he doesn't have the power he thinks he does and knows it. There are those behind the scenes moving this ball regarding the US, and for that matter the World Stage....we're simply watching the bumps and grinds as they move the players.
"A frustrated Iran Talks was unavailable for comment." (rimshot!)Blame Bath-house Barry.
"Death to America!"
