$122 billion per year taken out of the private sector and transferred to the public sector in California every year. This is in the land of the 10% sales tax.

Of course the providers of “services” will simply stand still and pay.

$122B for free! Why didn’t they do this years ago? Actually, why don’t they make the tax ten times as big? One hundred times as big? Free money is wonderful. They can make all their illegals rich, and it won’t cost anyone anything. Will it?

Well I am not surprised. As services become a larger and larger share of GDP and tangible goods less of a share, taxes on services becomes necessary to fed the mighty spending machine.

If they had an ounce of honesty they would call it the “kill the golden goose” tax.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

People should use the link and realize how much our economy relies on service sector jobs today.

It’s just crazy how much we used to produce, and how those jobs were destroyed.

If they are trying to depopulate the state of some more taxpayers, this is a step in the right direction. At some point in time, somebody in elected office has to see where this is going to lead to complete chaos.

Have the businesses agreed with this? They’ll get their point across after they move out of state....

You know, it is a common complaint I hear nearly everywhere. The biggest problem we have going is that we are not taxed enough.

n addition, the bill states that it “would enhance the state’s business climate, create jobs, and incentivize entrepreneurship by evaluating the current corporate income tax to determine whether it is meeting its intended purpose while at the same time linking changes to a more reasonable minimum wage.”

Only a socialist democrat would try and make you believe screwing businesses, excuse me, the public out of more of their already limited income is a positive thing for the economy! Gee gosh they say only 10 billion goes to the state and the rest to schools, and minimum wage schemes? Well screw that! When will there be enough money for the schools and the state, NEVER! No matter how much money the democrats squeeze out of the taxpayers it is never, ever enough!

“Relying on the wealthiest taxpayers to support California’s needs is outdated and dangerous fiscal policy. Not only does it increase the uncertainty of tax collections, but there is evidence that California’s high tax rates may be driving high income earners out of the state, which only deepens revenue shortfalls.””

They recognize this - yet the solution is not to reduce income taxes but to add yet another tax?

Socialist illogic.
