Walker On National Security: ‘You Feel It In Your Heart And Soul’ [motorcycle tour will be a hit]
The Daily Caller ^ | May 9, 2015 | Kerry Picket

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker took shots at President Obama’s national security policies at the Citizens United Freedom Summit. Walker mentioned he was on his way to Israel to speak to Benjamin Netanyahu and others during his trip and noted how emotional he becomes when he sees reports of terrorism.

“It’s something I feel passionate about. You see people are very concerned about safety them selves and their family coworkers and their fellow citizens because of what we see around the world. Not just in the Middle Mast but now we see in other parts of the world. Even here on American soil.”

“When I watch a Jordanian pilot burned alive in a cage — when I see Christians in Egypt and else where in the world shot or beheaded just because of their faith, there’s something I feel right here,” he said. “You feel it in your heart and soul. You don’t read about it. National security is something you read about in a newspaper. Safety is something you feel.”

“You start to worry it’s not just about something else around the world. It’s something that can happen anywhere —France, Belgium, and Canada, and Texas. It can happen anywhere in the world,”..

I asked a question. Can you answer it? What did you add to the discussion by attacking me?

This how you announced your presence on this thread:

------------

"So, Walker, feeeelings and meaningless pointing out the obvious, WTH are you going to do about it?"

----------

Where upon I asked you if you were here to throw rocks and if you'd watched the speech.

I am under no obligation to transcribe a 25 minute speech for you because you have some personal rule against watching the man speak. The speech is more than the title of the article.

You are entitled to your opinion. I don’t agree with it, however.

I have no friends on this site so sorry. I don’t give a rats ass for Cruz or walker yet. There was a link for his full remarks that you refuse to click so stfu. Both will be disappointments to individual liberty imho.

Thanks for the ping, LS. I will take up the video but honestly, I got caught up in the thread.

YIKES! CW! I like your style. You tend to give as good as you get, too, and I must say that in politics that’s my motto.

There’s always those who dish it out, but reflexively want to claim victim status when it circles back to smack them in the mouth. Boomerang.

There is still a contingent of us out here who say that it’s early spring and we want to watch and study the horses as they romp in the meadow awhile. Crashing and burning is not out of the question at this early hour.

Of the Republicans, there is not one of them this cycle who isn’t a decent and accomplished individual, a fine candidate, all family men, and Christian defenders, and to them add wonderful Carly, who takes it on a prong to Hillary Clinton. I can vote for any of them against Hillary, because there is not a Dole, McCain or Romney among them, (although Rand Paul is an enigma that leaves me with a really stupid look on my face). I’ve had to leave several of our nominee tickets with a blank on my ballot or to vote for “other”. Not this cycle.

So far, Cruz speaks for me. If he can make it to the top I will be proud. But Walker has a first class resume as a governor who has taken conservative principles and crammed them down the throat of the lefty unions and in very unfriendly territory. Wisconsin! That MATTERS. Look at DC!

Also, Walker supporters do not behave like thugs on a bender either. LOL!

These guys are lining up money now, not a swell of voters yet, so the lathered up zealots have a lot of road ahead to be getting so hysterical and combative, so early.

Thank you, Lakeshark, for the ping. I really appreciate it.

I tried to find the answer to my question in your links, and even went out to find them myself.
Guess I'll have to wait for more speeches, or interviews where the right questions are asked
that will pin Walker down on what exactly he plans to do if elected to the WH.

So far he's not saying "I will do this or that" if elected. And amnesty, he's avoiding that
issue altogether in his speeches.

Thank you for the links.

???

It appears that not only must I agree and comply with your position, but to avoid being personally insulted, I must do it enthusiastically.

How does this differ from bullying on the Left?

I've been thinking about your passive aggressive posting history about Gov. Scott Walker (and his supporters) and it seems plausible that you are (like Sen. Ted Cruz) trying to get ahead of the fact that he has no substantive governing record to praise or criticize. There are issues that he has talked about, proposed legislation for - but beyond conservative talking points (and some of those pesky votes and conflicting positions) he knows his vulnerabilities going forward. So, strategically, he needs to go on the defensive against governors who have done the heavy lifting of governing - who have verifiable records.

He now states that he will take the "high road" (except when he isn't taking the high road - and that made me think of you).

[Ted Cruz's legal career is impressive and he has had success in front of the Supreme Court - things I have highlighted and praised in numerous postings over the years. I also supported and voted for him in the TX Senate race. I'm making this clear to avoid going over that same territory with you, again. And I will add, (since you said you'd written about Scott Walker before he was a presidential aspirant, and wanted to know where was I back then) that I posted many stories about the fight going on against Walker in Wisconsin. Again, I bring this up because you seem to be setting yourself up as superior on every issue, when in fact you are just one of many who have been following these two men. And your admonition that Walker supporters have fallen short because they haven't gone on record as choosing Cruz as their second choice, is unseemly and dictatorial.]

".....With conservatives safely in his corner, Cruz has to appeal to the rest of the party, which makes attacking fellow Republican primary opponents a lot more complicated strategically for Cruz. Asked after his speech if this marked a new stage in his presidential campaign, Cruz said nothing has changed. But he did reveal that these lines of attack are justifiable — and that he is likely to deliver more and more in the months to come.

"My focus is going to continue to be what it has been, which is to go high road," Cruz told reporters. "I think there are some remarkable men and women who are looking at running for the presidency; some people I like and respect — senators, governors, people who are talented, people who are a new generation. And, I think we're going to have a robust conversation about the right direction for this country to go."

Cruz continued: "Now, as the election goes on, things may turn less than pleasant. Other candidates might choose to go into the gutter; I have no intention of reciprocating. So, I will not engage in personal attacks."

"But I do think it's perfectly legitimate to focus on records, to focus on records, to focus on issues, to focus on policy and to focus on vision," said Cruz. "That's the meat of politics. And so, it is perfectly fair to say, if there are issues that matter to you, whether religious liberty, whether immigration, whether Common Core, whether Constitutional rights, whether restoring American leadership in the world, that it is important for voters to look and ask each candidate what is your record in that regard."

are you really that thick? Bullying? Bullying is using the power of government. Iuse the power of truth and logic. If truth and logic ‘bully” you, then it’s YOU who have the problem.

And please either STFU or demonstrate where I have said ANYTHING negative about Walker ever - other than a teeny tiny jab at his governor v senator remark. That’s the only time. So put up or please SHUT UP.

I didn't have to go far, here it is, with the royal "we," no less and your misogynist comment about menstruation guiding my posting. btw and fyi, I haven't mensturated for several decades now.

I’m tempted to bring up time of the month. But I won’t.

I didn’t say a single negative thing about him. Not one. NOT ONE. What is your problem? And your words prove me right about most Walker supporters on here. You know Cruz is the FR favorite, and you can’t handle that apparently.

So go read: I said Walker is the second favorite candidate for most Cruz supporters - and he clearly is. FTR, i’ve thousands of positive “published” words about Walker since before he was elected. How many do you have? Oh, zero, got it.

But since you accused me of criticizing Walker, allow me to do so, albeit very gently. But the following has taken a little of the red off the Walker candy: He was apparently dragged kicking and screaming to the “right to work” law passed in Wisconsin. I thought previously he was a leader on it, but that’s not the case. But to his credit, he did come around on it.

He is a little squishy on amnesty related topics. He seems to be coming around on it, but he wasn’t in the right place instinctively.

And he’s playing into the establishment hands with his “governor not a senator” comments. It’s a little childish IMO. Anytime you echo Mike Huckabee, you make me nervous. And Walker is on the governor / senator thing.

But again, all of these are little quibbles. He is far and away my second choice. No one else is close. I’ve yet to hear one of the strong Walker supporters on here say that about themselves and Cruz. When you do, you have cred in this conversation. But not until.

We’re waiting....

If I believed what you just wrote to characterize Walker, I wouldn't have him as my first or my second choice.

Because Walker is smart (the slow turtle - not the show horse - that wins the race and gets the job done), because he doesn't provocatively shoot his mouth off (he works behind the scenes and gets the job done), because he rejects self aggrandizing flourishes, like painting a target on his back for the Left's convenience, you have some "little quibbles" with him.

What you have, is an agenda (and there is nothing wrong with that). Your purpose is to elevate Cruz by undercutting Walker. I have more respect for posters who just flat out campaign against Walker, people who do not try to be clever and lie about their intentions (since you've chosen to say that I lie, I guess the term is fair game).

Your postings are passive aggressive, narcissistic and insulting. Most irritating thing about them is the tone you choose that reveals that you believe others are inferior to you.

Can't get past that. I work to avoid you. Avoid me.

I don’t read your long posts. Not that interested. I will say this: I’m not sure you are up to political debate. You’re way too emotional and way too hung up on your perception of other peoples’ attitudes, and thus you don’t have any brain cells left to actually do the logical part.

I have a question.

If Walker stumbles, who is on your list that you would support?

And yes, of course, it's a theoretical question, but one we all should deal with.
