NEW YORK (AP) Hundreds of men, women and children including fashion designer Donna Karan marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday demanding stricter gun laws and offering a litany of violent stories to show why such laws are needed.
Held on the eve of Mother's Day, the third annual march from Brooklyn to Manhattan was organized by the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

They have no idea how restrictive gun laws in NYC are ... morons ... it’s the street gangs with stolen guns, that’s the problem. Their answer would be to prevent law abiding citizens to have guns so the hood’s won’t be able to steal them.
Gun sense?
When does the march against the mostly blacks pulling the triggers begin?
I had a Donna Karan label dress back in the day. The first time it was washed, the colors ran. Total waste. My opinion of her seems not to have changed.
The photos were most revealing and unrevealing at the same time. "Hundreds" were more like a few dozen at most. The photos were taken from a waist height, aimed upward to keep just a few people in the shot, so the field of view did not show any of the "crowd" behind them, because, in my opinion, there likely was no crowd behind them. Other photos had any possible view of the "crowd" fig-leafed by carefully placed signs of the foreground protesters. The one photo where you could see down the bridge showed sparse numbers and long areas of no people at all.
Conclusion, the photographer and the reporter exaggerated the numbers of protesters to make a story and the numbers way out of proportion to their importance.
Always they protest the inanimate object, and fail to protest those criminals who commit the crimes. Guns do not pull triggers, people do.
Hundreds?! HUNDREDS?!! In the most populous city in the country, they can only manage HUNDREDS?! And I’m supposed to give a sh*t, why?!
I get all my home defense tips and advise from Donna Karan.
ROFL
What would have been funny if a criminal with a gun robbed them. And a CCW holder stopped the robbery...
Donna Karan, you are missing a business venture. You could have DKNY gun holsters. Oh well, it would be expensive crap anyway.
Ashes In Your Mouth
People have round shoulders from fairing heavy loads
And the soldiers liberate them, laying mines along their roads
Sorrow paid for valor is too much to recall
Of the countless corpses piled up along the wailing wall
Melting down all metals, turning plows and shears to swords
Shun words of the Bible, we need implements of war
Chalklines and red puddles of those who have been slain
Destiny, that crooked schemer, says the dead shall rise again
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here
God have mercy!
Now we’ve rewritten history
The one thing we’ve found out
Sweet taste of vindication
It turns to ashes in your mouth
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here
God have mercy!
If you’re fighting to live
It’s okay to die
The answer to your question is
Welcome to tomorrow
Where do we go from here?
God have mercy!
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here
God have mercy!
I think the writer meant, “dozens.”
What a massive fail.
In a city of 12 million, where support for more restrictive gun laws is the densest in the Nation, they can rally a few dozen marchers to their cause.
Epic Fail.
Their “cause” has had massive failures of reason, logic, data and falling public support.
This is pitiful. More second amendment supporters turn out for a march in the wilds of Idaho than support more restrictions in New York City.
And Yahoo! reports it in spin worthy of Pravda.
Hey ,
Wait a Darn Minute!
Wasn’t this near them Towers that a few Cowards with a bunch of Razors killed Three Thousand Innocent Civilians?
oh look ,,
a Squirrel!
Confiscate all the guns and federalize all local police. That will fix everything. /s
I guess it would be asking too much to expect a reporter to do a little fact checking?
Truth is that the majority of the people of New York city are big government sheeple. I wouldn’t visit New York city under any circumstances.
Reminds me of the old Hollywood promo: "A cast of Thousands!" - John Thousands, Betty Thousands, Henry Thousands, . . .
I used to go to NYC every year. Now you couldn’t pay me to visit.
