The Pentagon announced Friday morning that the security levels at all US military bases, going from Force Protection Condition (FPCON) “Alpha” to FPCON “Bravo”. That bump is being seen, to some degree, at all military installations in Texas.

Fort Hood, the Army’s largest installation in the world, was very direct: “We don’t discuss security procedures, period.”

Chris Haug of the base did go on to tell Breitbart Texas “It’s a heightened awareness, but the safety of the families and personnel are the top priority. We take appropriate measures.”

Is Bravo a step up or down from Alpha?

Meanwhile, the brass gives briefings about the “threat” of “rightwing terrorists” in accordance with the memos.

I doubt they will try Texas again.

Too Heavily Armed and Armored for those Quick ill thought out Jihadi attacks.

Even they don't want to end up as a Chalk Outline before taking at least a few infidels with them.

No, the next attack will be far more Evil and Heartbreaking.

A soft Target, like a School or Grocery Store in Walla Walla, Washington, or some such.

Lol.
Well, I am the only one in artillery to have ever been banned from making the coffee.
(Fort Drum in 1999! What an AT that was!)

I guess that would make sense.

It won’t be elementary schools near me in Central Texas. The “good ole boy” teachers are armed to the teeth and will return deadly fire before ANYONE even has a chance to dial 911.

And, yes, I know of at least one “good ole girl” staff person that has had a .357 Magnum in her purse since long before anyone ever heard of concealed carry. In a slit second shootout, she would be deadly.

Alpha is normal vigilance. No threats known. From there the levels increase to Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. As a threat goes up, so does the level. for instance, after the Pentagon was attacked on 9-11, the threat level for every military installation, especially in DC, went to Delta. Delta is very tight.

The last time I visited Pendleton I was taken to task for wearing ear buds while driving. Imagine what it must be like now!

I doubt they will try Texas again.

I don't know about that. They got nothing but a slap on the wrist. It was written off as work place violence and there's now a steady stream of muzzy bros contaminating the Lincoln Bedroom.

At what FPCON do our soldiers not have to rely on MPs for security?

Is Bravo a step up or down from Alpha?

Alpha is the bottom of the list - Bravo increases the security posture due to increased possibility of threat - Charlie and Delta bump it up as threats increase.
