While we are all justifiably proud of the Garland traffic officer who brought a Glock 21 to a fight against terrorists wearing body armor and carrying carbines and decisively won, let’s not kid ourselves. The assault in Garland was only a failure because the terrorists were dim-witted amateurs who didn’t realize that the school-owned target they drove more than a thousand miles to attack was well-protected with multi-layer defenses.
If the same two amateur jihadis had attacked an average school, mall, concert, or church with the same firearms and “fools rush in” game plan, they might have succeeded in creating a mass casualty event.

Yep, if they had picked a gun free zone target like a mall or school, the result would have been a disaster.
These guys had rifles. You’d think one of them would have taken a position 100 or so yards from the intersection and pinned down the officer, while the other slipped around one side to bring fire onto building.
Or for all that matter, why not wait until the meeting let out and then fire (from a distance) upon the queue of vehicles in the driveway making the turn onto the street. One firing directly up the driveway and the other from the side.

I don't think the Jihadists Leaders cared one way or the other...they are quite happy ‘any’ create chaos, events and incidents. What's the difference between the mentality of the individuals doesn't come into play....in fact the dumber they are the more likely they'll be given the go ahead.
I’m not sure improved tactics are a worthwhile topic for specifics. We all know that these terrorists were morons, but I don’t see a point in suggesting specific improvements.

Apparently 9mm KelTech carbines. Also apparent, poor planning on their part which was good for the good guys. Too bad that they aren’t all dolts and sooner of later there’s goona be a nasty wake up call. And guess who “they’ll” want to disarm.
The pictures that I saw show a KelTec Sub2000 carbine, missing the front sight, and without any optical sights.
The other firearm appeared to be an AR-15 configuration, unknown caliber. It had sights, but did not appear to have an optical sight.
The KelTec is the only one where the ID seems clear.

It appears I fell hook, line and sinker for the MSM’s hysterical reporting that the Muslims were armed with “AK-47s” with “75 round drum magazines”

I have trouble believing these guys were ISIS.
Surely they would have gotten a modicum of training if they were.
Shooting themselves before they got out of the their car is the only way they could have done worse.

They were known to the FEEBIEs but the bureau is as corrupt as every other government agency. In Colorado the politicians claim to be concerned about school safety yet prevent teachers and chp permit holders to carry on school property though we can keep it in the car. NO GUN signs at businesses and malls don’t keep most chp folks from carrying though they are terrorist and feral thug magnets

I seem to recall that one bomb robot was laying on its side in some of the aerial coverage.
