Is Matt Drudge the second most influential man in America?
The Hill ^ | May 7. 2015 | Brent Budowsky,

While as a liberal, I do not suggest the following with a great deal of pleasure, but Matt Drudge is by far the single most influential person in the American media, and it is fair to ask: Is he the second most influential man in America?

For more than any individual in the media, Drudge dominates his competitors to the degree that he has no competitors, and determines what you watch on television, what you read in newspapers, what you hear and radio, and even what you read on the Internet about politics more than any single person in American history.

he has never been a breaking news guy.
Never? I think Bill Clinton and Monica would disagree.

"The New York Times may consider itself the finest newspaper in the world"

...and the "newspaper of record" (pardon my guffaw), but in fact it is a risible propaganda organ, and future generations will laugh at the ridiculous bilge of those whom its propaganda serves (and vice versa).

Never!

He did not write the Monica stories. People think he writes, but he doesn’t. He merely directs you to what he thinks you should be reading.

I read Drudge most days, but use Lynx text only browser to read it. That is the only way I don’t get all the screen refresh popups while viewing it.

I also send Drudge tips when I see something in the news he is not listing.

he influences those most easily influenced

popular perception is the name of the game...as illustrated by the authors claim

the author perceives matt drudge as influential....

the low info dupe....who voted for Baraq Obama...certainly perceives Obie as being influential.

were not talking anything but the Disinfotaiment Industry Influence here at ALL.

"tells me what to eat for breakfast" etc.

Leftists believe this because they expect and allow their leaders tell to them what to think, read, watch etc., and they think everyone does. They cannot imagine that there are people who actually decide such things and think for themselves.

The Leftist pawns cannot comprehend the extent of their own self-mockery, i.e. that they believe themselves to be liberal but are in fact closed minded, to be tolerant but are intolerant, that they love diversity but in fact demand conformity, that they are sophisticated though in fact they are sophomoric, that they are above and ahead of everyone else whereas the opposite is true, that they are wise but in fact are stupid.

Truth is scorned by the Left, though the Leftist pawns cannot understand this and are themselves blinded by self-deception.

They tend to think that everyone is like themselves, but this is just another effect of self-deception and lack of sophistication.

In the last year, I have gone to Drudge Report exactly 2 times and typically it is because I read something here that had me click on to Drudge. I am not crazy about his website. It seems to tabloidish.

Oh wow. I typically go to Facebook first and then FR. I never look at Drudge. Once in awhile if I am needing some laughs I will mosey on over to USA Today to see what the liberals are thinking but even that is rare. My guilty pleasure is tvbytheratings.com which is total waste of time but I enjoy it.....and on Monday mornings, I go to boxofficemojo to check out how the movies did the weekend. Other than that it is FR super majority of the time.

The conceit of liberals is, since they can't believe any sane person would reject liberalism/leftism, all conservatives are being led by evil people like Drudge, FOX News, Rush, or the Koch bros.

They're quite unable to understand that people like the latter simply give voice to many common people who had no media champion before them.

Like other conservative sources, Drudge merely reports what the lib media sources refuse to air or print. For that, revealing info deemed unnewsworthy by libs, Drudge is condemned by the usual suspects.
