With passage of the Corker-Cardin Democrat protection bill, it has become abundantly clear that Senate Republicans are utterly useless.
Due to the outrageously false perception of this bill, only 6 Republicans opposed shutting off debate (Sens. Cruz, Cotton, Grassley, Lee, Moran, and Sullivan) and only Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) voted against it in the final passage.
Now its time for House conservatives to stand up and be counted.
Ive watched countless legislative fights over the years and have seldom seen such an outrageous level of dishonesty in selling a bill as something completely antithetical than its plain text political intent.
From beginning to end, the dishonest bipartisan oligarchy sold this bill as a way of securing congressional approval of any Iran deal. Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), Obamas point man in the Senate on the Iran appeasement, made the following deceitful statement prior to voting on the bill:
It was in the 1990's that Congress started to impose sanctions against Iran for its Nuclear weapons program. Only congress can remove those Sanctions or permanently change it. (Congressional Record)
This is a uniquely scandalous lie even for a member of Congress. He has officially gone on record as vouching for our position that Congress must approve any deal made by the president but refuses to admit that his bill does just the opposite. Instead of the default position being no sanctions relief unless a majority of Congress affirmatively approve of the deal, this bill allows the president to remove sanctions after 30 days unless two-thirds of both houses override the president. Ben Cardin has no intention of ever doing that. This is a new low, even for a career politician.

"House conservatives have the opportunity to make it clear to leadership that they will only support a bill that actually matches the rhetoric of its supporters. The only way to harmonize Cardins talking point with the text of the bill is for the House to amend the legislation with the Cruz amendment, which would require Congress to affirmatively approve of the deal."
There is a society of elites who want one world government. They don’t believe in God. They only believe in themselves and therefore only they can save mankind.
They can only accomplish this if the U.S. is out of the picture. There is no longer a two party system in America. There is one party that is pretending to be two parties and they are working together to destroy this country.
McConnell is pathetic.
Why such asshats aren’t voted out during the primaries doesn’t speak well to the base.
The three horizontal, paper branches are not confined to their constitutional duties and worst of all, DO NOT CHECK EACH OTHER.
Its members all on the same team; each lusts for power and wealth and is more than happy to illegally punt his responsibilities to a president who, unlike them, will not face reelection.
This team, this Uniparty is fast becoming the sole institution of government. All three branches are rolling into one organization, a single party that has replaced the three branches. Oh, the majestic buildings for each branch are still there, but they are hollow shells and serve only to deceive a gullible and ignorant people.
We have precisely the form of tyranny that James Madison warned us of; it was made possible upon ratification of the 17A which did away with vertical separation of power.
Article V, before we can't.
So Cruz voted yes, and here on FR there are those whom claim he is the saving grace for America. Ridiculous Cruz is just like McLame and all the useless socalled Republican establishment. Hopefully people have woken up to the fact that Cruz has no balls or backbone when it comes down to the wire. Pick Cruz and America will lose!
This included AIPAC, Zionist Organization of America, Orthodox Union, and the Jewish Republican Coalition. If you took the time research it, probably all Israeli Lobby groups went on record supporting
The Corker-Cardin Democrat protection bill is a bill to subvert the Constitution and provide aid and comfort to the enemy.
It is a bill for traitors to support.
I must admit I’m a bit confused as to why the person who is supposed to represent a Conservative’s last, best hope according to some, (Cruz) voted “yes”.
I’m sure there is some illusive excuse I just can’t comprehend.
A couple of days back, I noticed something wicked, this way comes. Long after that (yesterday), I noticed that something wicked, arrived. The blantant level of deception which DC and USA ~news operate at is, well, words fail to capture; unless I say treasonous; dare I say something strong enough to mean anything anymore?
The enemies foreign and domestic: first turned USA law into null and void. Then they conquered DC. The enemies foreign and domestic, who now _own_ DC, have become the gods of everything that moves and doesn’t move.
What they say is ~fact. What they dictate is ~law. What they image is ~real. It is _you_ who are their illusion.
“’When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean neither more nor less.’ ‘The question is,’ said Alice, ‘whether you can make words mean so many different things.’ ‘The question is,’ said Humpty Dumpty, ‘which is to be master that’s all.’

“Our peculiar security is in possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction. I say the same as to the opinion of those who consider the grant of the treaty making power as boundless. If it is, then we have no Constitution.”
— Thomas Jefferson
But Art II, Sect. 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution requires the Senate vote on any treaty, which must be approved by a 2/3 vote. If Cruz thinks the Senate GOP will ignore that part of the Consntitution, he should be referring to them as traitors, and not vote "Yes" for a bill that is supported by RINOs and traitorous, hell-spawned Demonicrats.
Thank you for that explanation. I can now ignore the Cruz worshippers with impunity.
I sympathize with anyone who puts their faith and hope in someone, anyone whom they think will save us from what the America-hating Communist in the Whitehouse has done to us. At this point, though, the only way that might be done is to have an American Braveheart appear on the scene and lead us to battle. I don’t see that happening.

Yes, it is difficult to understand as it is not what most Cruz supporters would have predicted. But there are very good reasons for his doing what he did.
The Iran Bill is VERY CONVOLUTED and is a work of McConnell who is a despicable human being or as Mark Levin says “a gutless wonder”.
Ted Cruz voted NO on cloture first. That’s important to remember and explained more below.
Ted HAD TO vote YES on the Bill, why?
First, Obama has been keeping his Iran Deal Plan a secret. He has talked to no one in Congress, at least not anyone that would be against it and who he could not control to keep it secret. The reason Ted knows some details is from leaks from the Iranian side, from Mossad, from informants, from Iranian press reports.
Here’s the key fact: to be able to see the Iran Deal, a member of Congress must go to a special room where they are monitored. They are not allowed to copy or image the deal in any form. AND THEY MUST HAVE VOTED YES ON THE BILL, why? Because the Bill calls for ‘reviewing’ the Iran deal plan and those who voted NO on the Bill have no reason to see the secret plan.
Second, Ted wants to participate in the Review and if he had voted NO he could not see the plan so he could not be part of the review. He wants to be part of the Review because he has some power and privileges to slow it down, to slow down the Review. Ted said in his press release that he would have an opportunity to delay it a little.
Why is it important to delay the Review? Because until the Review is complete, Obama cannot move forward with his Iran Deal.
In a nutshell, the two reasons are direct view and delay.
Here are some fact bits that help to understand:
1. Ted voted NO on cloture. As long as cloture had not passed, the bill would have never been brought to the floor for a vote. Therefore, Ted did not want this bill to brought to the floor without an important amendment to it that he wanted to introduce but was not allowed to introduce because McConnell cut him off. That amendment would have changed the character of the Bill by requiring ‘affirmative approval’ of the Bill. But most Senators will not APPROVE but will gladly DISAPPROVE so that they can be safe from the wrath of their constituents.
So in the mind of a US Senator, the simple view is:
APPROVE BILL <— BAD
DISAPPROVE BILL <— GOOD
2. McConnell allowed the bill to offer Senators a chance to disapprove the Bill. Why is this bad? Because Obama can veto a bill that sends a disapproval, The veto would require 2/3’s of Congress to vote to override his veto. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Then, because Congress cannot pass a bill to disapprove, Obama gives himself license to go forward with his deal. This is why Obama supported McConnell’s version bill. It was actually Corker’s bill but Corker is McConnell’s toadie.
3. Ted’s version of the Bill would require the Senate to affirmatively approve the deal. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Why is this NOT GOING TO HAPPEN version good? Because it means that the Senate would never approve the deal and the Constitution requires 2/3’s of the Senate to approve a Treaty. So Ted’s version was designed to kill Obama’s deal.
There’s a lot more to this but the above is enough to understand that Ted Cruz is still fighting for the Constitution, for America’s best future and is still full of integrity.
In my haste, I left a few things susceptible to mixing up. Here’s some clarfication:
That amendment would have changed the character of the Bill by requiring affirmative approval of the Bill. But most Senators will not APPROVE but will gladly DISAPPROVE so that they can be safe from the wrath of their constituents.
So in the mind of a US Senator, the simple view is:
Ted’s Bill Version: APPROVE BILL < BAD
McConnell’s Bill Version: DISAPPROVE BILL < GOOD
2. McConnell allowed the bill to offer Senators a chance to disapprove OBAMA’S IRAN DEAL. Why is this bad? Because Obama can veto a bill that sends a disapproval OF HIS PLALN, The veto would require 2/3s of Congress to vote to override his veto. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Then, because Congress cannot pass a bill to disapprove HIS DEAL, Obama gives himself license to go forward with his deal. This is why Obama supported McConnells version of the bill. It was actually Corkers bill but Corker is McConnells toadie.
3. Teds version of the Bill would require the Senate to affirmatively approve the deal. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Why is this NOT GOING TO HAPPEN version good? Because it means that the Senate would never approve the deal and the Constitution requires 2/3s of the Senate to approve a Treaty. So Teds version was designed to kill Obamas deal.
Conservative in both Houses should withdraw from the republican party and force the current leadership into minority status, then let them negotiate for a coalition and force them to change some of their progressive policies. This is probably the only hope we have of derailing Boehner and the Turtle.
He must be using one of those well known GW Super Secret, Super Genius plans. He had hundreds of them, as all here know. Strategery don't you know.

As of this moment, none of them are “preferred” by me. I will continue to hope, perhaps unrealistically, for someone who doesn’t equivocate. I understand all the reasons put forth that Cruz voted as he did. However, such convolutions signify a government in decline, deadlock and decay. History proves that all such fall, and usually not to a better fate. That this America hating imposter of a President was elected twice has remained in office to wreak havoc on this country at will only proves that there are no heroes left in Congress or perhaps anywhere else. They don’t make Americans like they used to.
