The Baltimore police investigation into the death of a black man from injuries sustained in police custody fails to support some charges filed by the city prosecutor, CNN reported on Thursday.
Citing officials briefed on the separate probes by prosecutor Marilyn Mosby and police into the death of Freddie Gray, the television news network said the lack of support for charges from the police findings could allow lawyers representing the officers to undercut the prosecution.
Gray, 25, sustained spinal injuries after being arrested, and his death on April 19 sparked protests and a day of arson and looting in the largely African American city.
Mosby charged six officers on Friday with counts ranging from false imprisonment to manslaughter and second-degree murder. She made her announcement hours after the state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and a day after police turned over their findings about Gray's arrest.
Officials familiar with the probes say the homicide investigation run by police at most contemplated a manslaughter charge, not second-degree murder as Mosby charged one of the officers, Caesar Goodson...

CNN or whatever media source cut out the part of the video where he stands up before getting into the van. They only show him rag doll up to it.
He could only have been injured inside the van-- and inside the van we have a witness claiming he believed Gray was trying to hurt himself. There's also a tox report saying he tested positive for marijauna and heroin.
MSM played bait and switch? I’m not surprised. Can you give me a keyword to search on google or a link? I’d like to see how they pulled this off.
Nevermind, I finished reading the thread and saw the links posted by another
She’s an affirmative action thug.
Watch the city explode under her watch.
Good point regarding heroin overdose. Asthma also enters the picture.. Gray requested an inhaler? I have no doubt the defense will TEAR THE PROSECUTION APART with doubt.. “Beyond any reasonable doubt” will NEVER happen. NEVER, unless most of the jurors are black, and even then it’s a stretch.
The product of outcome-based education.
If she has the mental powers of a thirteen year old, I would be surprised.
Well, this Mosby certainly isn’t “The Gray Ghost”, is she? More like Gen. Custer at Little Big Horn. Charged right into an ambush and was too arrogant to properly scout out the terrain and enemy forces.
Don’t let the corrupt revolving door of Baltimore politics hit you in the ass on your way out, MM.
I’ve been missing you on the numerous threads that illustrate just how badly your girlfriend’s case has been falling apart.
It’ll be a great pleasure watching you burn on the liberal altar you have chosen to sacrifice yourself upon.
Cheers, operative!
Next year, you won’t be here.
“All we know for sure is that Gray’s spine was in one piece when he took off running and then after less than an hour in police custody it wasn’t. Somebody did something to him.”
The thing is, whoever may have done something to Gray may very well not even know it. In the heat of the takedown, which is obviously a physical event with force being used, any of the cops may have inadvertantly caused harm to the perp without even knowing it. Just as the perp could have caused harm to any of the Cops also, if he/she were struggling with them. It’s a two way street.
I err on the side of the Cops dealing with some pretty scummy characters, time and time again. And, as it is equally possible the perp intentionally tried to harm himself, and I doubt anyone will ever know the entire truth of the incident, I vote for release of all of the Cops because the charges against them are bogus, politically generated, and will not stand.
But the MOB of looters INSISTED they were guilty!!!
a day....
0dd his posting history. I think you called it.
Fellow traveler operative down one side and the other.
I’ve been missing you too, sweetie!
I just love being called a liberal operative because I don’t jump to the defense of a bunch of cops who failed to provide medical assistance for nearly an hour after they made an arrest (and yes, I’ve heard the radio call of them requesting EMS - from their last stop, almost an hour after gray first requested medical assistance), and wound up with a dead prisoner in the back of their van.
Because, no true conservative would dare question how that happened.
See you soon!
Okay, let’s forego the charges against the cops involved and instead charge all the neighbors of the cops with 1st degree murder, rape and arson. Maybe treason and sedition and littering as well.
A review of your postings this week reveals that your gruel has gotten quite a bit thinner.
Careful! You and your handlers picked this issue as a sure winner, and it’s about to turn south on you. In a BIG way.
You do NOT want to piss off your betters by getting your liberal self marginalized — or, Gaia forbid, banished — before that all-important primary and election cycle. After all, that’s what you were hired to sabotage.
So better tread carefully. Best of luck. You’ll need it! You’re falling behind.
Now get back to that first-year law school homework. It’s tough serving two masters from mom’s basement, isn’t it? I would feel sorry for you, except for the evil in your heart.
Go on...
Oh, look, it’s Nervous Tick providing nothing of substance, but resorting to insults. Again. And not even very good insults (first-year law school homework? Umm, ha ha?).
*yawn*
