The Conservative Party seems more concerned with attacking UKIP than defeating the Labour Party.

Disappointing for UKIP if they only have 2 seats.

Looks like a Conservative minority government.

The Liberal Democrats are far behind with 10.

UKIP support probably is spread out such that they do not get the proportional amount of seats. It will be interesting to see their vote total.

We’ll see if the Conservatives can increase their lead once the raw vote totals become available later.

Labour did not improve over its 2010 Election showing so this has to be a defeat for Ed Miliband.

No way Labour can form the next government.

At least in the UK they show Labour with the color red. It would be nice if we did that here in the US with the dems.

I agree. Does anyone know who decided in US Dems were Blue and Repubs were Red on charts?

Two interesting tweets on the Sky News twitter:

1. If exit polls are correct, it would be Labour’s lowest level since 1987.

2. UKIP may very well get the 3rd largest number of votes, even if they only end up with 2 seats. Not a bad showing if true.

Apparently Labour got wiped out in Scotland.

The Conservatives can count on support from conservative Northern Ireland Protestant parties which could win 6 seats.

And with LD’s 10 that would bring them to a one seat majority coalition.

Who does that remind you of?

As I recall, it is from the 2000 election. It was traditional for the incumbent party to be in blue and the challenging party to be in red. Gore and the Dems were the incumbent party, so they were blue. Bush and the Republicans were the out of power party, so they were red. It has stuck since then. But red is the more appropriate color for the Dems.

The Tories are taking most of the seats in England, and Labour is taking the rest there and in Wales. Looks like a clean sweep for SNP in Scotland.

It will be interesting to see what concessions will have to be given to the SNP at this time. I seem to recall Cameron articulating a federalism-like structure, where Scotland and Wales could vote on their own taxes, but England could vote separately on its own taxes.

Labour is going to be in serious trouble for a long time if the SNP remains as a large power. A lot of Labour support was in Scotland.

England will probably get its own Parliament and the Parliament in Westminster will be reduced to legislating on federal matters.

BBC’s exit poll has the Conservatives leading with 316 so with the LD that would give them a one seat majority coalition.

Depending on the final seat count, a Conservative minority government is also an option.
