I believe that was in Houston.
Kind of what Franklin Graham and his guys said. They’d just disobey orders to do wrong, law or no law.
Check you FR Mail.
The plain words of the First Amendment should make it clear what the rights of religious bodies are on this issue. The government might claim that churches are required to perform homosexual marriages on the basis of anti-discrimination. What government would really be doing is dictating religious doctrine and practice. No religious believer or member of the clergy worth their salt ought to put up with that. So any moves in that direction on the part of the government need to be disobeyed and resisted.
This would really be the logical backstop. However the USSC has gotten out the wiffle bats for things like this while getting out the spiky clubs for those emanation penumbra rights.
Lawyers are breaking our system.
Whatever happened to minority rights but MAJORITY RULES?
The MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE OF ALABAMA have ruled that they don’t want homosexual marriage.
There was a mayor, I forget where, recently, who wanted to subpoena the SERMONS...”
That would be the gay Democrat mayor in Houston. I believe one of the ministers suggested that she didn’t need to subpoena them, she could just attend church and hear them for herself.
Governor Abbott was talking about a bill in Texas which would allow a minister to opt out of having to marry any couple. Just caught the tail end of it so don’t know if it’s up for a vote or not but he did say he would sign such a bill.
I keep working on my nephew. He saw Book of Mormon and loved it. I told him well then dont tell me drawing MudHead was wrong then.
