Advocates of the Obama Administrations nuclear deal with Iran need look no further than Ukraine to see what the consequences of a bad deal with a rogue state can be.
Back in February, the leaders of France, Germany and Russia pressured a desperate Ukrainian president into signing an agreement that made no mention of Russias annexation of the Crimea, guaranteed a special status (read: Russian-controlled) eastern Ukraine, and froze in place the current front lines. This meant that all Russias ill-gotten gains would be held by President Putin. In return, Ukraines President Poroshenko got a sorely-needed $17.5 billion aid package from the Wests International Monetary Fund. Monitoring compliance would be left to Europes OSCE.

The bad deal, i recall, was the Budapest Memorandum.

How about we let Europe take care of itself for a change? In case nobody has noticed, the US is dealing with Muslims in our midst, illegal immigrant hordes, rioting in cities, huge debt, and an oppressive government of our own. Why we want to pimp with nuclear Russia is beyond me.
That was the “give us your nukes, we got your 6” memo?
Betcha they’re the first and last nation to fall for that s***!!!
what a terrible thing for Ukraine to do. Why di they do it. Ws money involved. It was praised at the time by nuke activists, of course.
Because Clinton told them to.
And they probably believed the vague agreement to help them if Russia attacked. What a shame.
And then there is this.
First I was confused as Indiana Republican Dick Lugar was also involved, but then I learned he is a gun control enthusiast.
did he know then what he was doing. Leaving Ukraine defenseless? GD Clinton and Obama.
Yeah ... I don’t really know whether to put this one down to stupidity or malice. I remember that many people sincerely believed this “end of history” thing.

The EU’s attempt to transcend sovereignty and traditional power politics by establishing a transnational rule of law is much more in line with a “post-historical” world than the Americans’ continuing belief in God, national sovereignty, and their military.[5]///
I have to disagree with him here. Europe’s abandonment of Christianity has left it weakened and in my opinion one of two outcomes will occur, Muslim takeover of Europe or another European war. I now the second sounds crazy but Greece asking for a quarter trillion war reparations is not a good sign. Also the rise of nationalism and Germany’s huge advantage over the other countries is leaving bitterness everywhere.
Fukuyama also warned of “political decay”, which he wrote could also affect established democracies like the United States, in which corruption and crony capitalism erode liberty and economic opportunity. Nevertheless, he expressed his continued belief that “the power of the democratic ideal remains immense...
This I agree with.
More like leaving them needing to be rearmed and beholden to money powers that be...
very sinister and evil if you are correct
not you, Obama lol. Although you could be.... ;)
MMmmUUuuahahahahaha...
ARF!
Greece is such a symptom of dumb! They actually elected communists to power. I think it is the first time in history when communists have gotten to power by elections. I very much hope that Europe gives the Greeks a good punch on their nose. I don’t feel sorry for the Greeks if that happens as nobody put a gun on their head to elect the commies.
I reconsider a bit. I still think that the Greece need a good asskicking, but I feel sorry for these Greek voters who did not vote for the commies.
they are lazy and want bailouts and 20 hour work weeks and retirement at 40.
The EU leaders always talk in globalist terms. They are so above the nationalist fray. They must think we US people are so backwards, with our Christianity and guns and nationalism.
EU will fall in my opinion. Dark days ahead for Europe from within or without
Still ... the countries freed from the communism have 190 votes in 751 member EU parliament. That is more than 25% and certainly can not be ignored. Well ... I have always been an optimist.
