I found this article from May 2013. I don't know where Baltimore ranks today but it looks like the school distict is another example of trickle down entitlements.

For $15,000+ per student, you ought to be able to get a good private school education. We send my daughter to private christian school and pay about half that and she is getting a top quality college prep education. Yes, it is a bargain.

Yep!
OH! And fewer guns, too.
More money, less guns, and the place will be paradise.

How am I supposed to feel sympathy for the failure of school officials that spend TWICE as much as our district?

wow... total fail.

For less than $5,000 per year, I send my kids to the top private school in the area.

And they are getting a FAR better education than I ever received.

Most places south of Baltimore have the best schools in the country.....Severna Park for one. Really great schools in the Arnold/Annapolis area.

I was going to say 5K is pretty good. 7K definitely sounds more likely, BUT it will be the best money you spend even if you get screwed on the property taxes too.

I saw a claim last week that Baltimordor school spending was around $16,500 this year. Along with New York they must have the smartest students in the country.

If you want to know how bad a school is, look for high dollar amounts going into them. It seems that money buys lousy teachers and uneducated, but indoctrinated, students.
