Vice President Joe Biden has told a crowd at an NAACP event in Detroit that law enforcement officers and the people they are sworn to protect need to “see each other” to know one another.
Referencing outrage over the treatment of black men by police, Biden pointed to the successes of federally funded community policing programs that required officers to meet with residents and business owners in their patrol areas.
“Everyone has a right to be treated with dignity and respect and the only way that happens is if we see one another. And that only happens if we know one another,” Biden told a crowd attending the Detroit branch of the NAACP’s 60th annual Fight for Freedom Fund dinner. According to NAACP officials, the dinner draws around 10,000 people each year. …

No Joe...the remedy is racial profiling.
Run from the cops, expect to not be treated with respect, nor dignity. Morons.
They are just trying to disarm the police, then us. Or start a civil war.
Blacks today seem to be doing a lot of racial profiling. Then they go and play the knockout game on the guy profiled.
Or rape the white woman they profiled.
Or rob the non-black store owner they profiled.
Does that include the street gangs? The buisiness owners aren’t the problem.
In these communities, a kid could get in trouble like hanging out with other kids smoking pot, engaging in petty theft, and the adults in their lives turning a blind eye.
Lady Justice has a blind eye, and usually a sword or other implement depicted, and her blind eye is the government which prosecutes these people who grow up literally without any regard for right and wrong.
Hillary should join Biden in pointing to Detroit as a “success” story.
I actually agree, if the police live in your neighborhood they are much less likely to hassle you without a reason, because they are more accountable. It’s kind of a microcosm of keeping government closer to the people. As far as these ghetto neighborhoods, let them hire an all black police force.
I don’t see lack of reasons abounding.
The Detroit police are actually doing a pretty solid job these days under Chief Craig and a lot of that is due to involvement in the community.
He is a believer in the broken windows theory and says that people do encourage him to worry about the small crimes as a means of creating an environment where criminals don’t want to be.
He points to punks loitering at gas stations as a source of trouble that people have asked him to concentrate on. He said that the nurse who stopped the Steve Utash beating told him it wouldn’t have happened if the thugs hadn’t been hanging around the gas station.

Nations have borders, of course. Removal of borders is a deliberate act towards disestablishing the USA as a sovereign entity, and of course allowing some other belligerent power(s) to extend its (their) borders over our former ones.
