Pretty shocking summary of themes we hear about and themes we hear snippets about. Unless you study these topics and are already familiar, you will likely be shocked. If you have children or grandchildren, this will kick you in the gut. 38 Mins.

Forgetting God’s love, all manner of ersatz loves take its place.
I walked into a Sears store last year, directly into the girls’ department. Could not believe the horrible, trashy hooker-looking clothes they were selling for pre-teens and younger.
This is a serious problem and has been going on for some time. It’s like war on children.
I can vouch for the late 60s. Playboy eyeglass frames for boys. (Yup I wore them, the grownups all thought it was so cute.)
Bttt
If parents need a 38 minute video to tell them this, that’s kinda the problem right there
No kidding. I have a jerk on my can here arguing for drug dealers like this is the correct conservative viewpoint.
It’s a libtard/libertarian viewpoint that is myopic and totally un-doable in the real world because we don’t live in g-d vacuums and impenetrable bubbles.
Are the people pursuing them attractive, or are they ugly?
Now, if the perverts are ugly then the advocates of adult/minor sex consider them “guilty.” If the predators are attractive then the perverts are “not guilty. “
People who desire our youths to be completely sexualized can be found in every sector of society.
Very enlightening and thought provoking. I have seen so much of this everywhere and I am glad I am not the only one who is noticing.
Seeing quotes from the Koran and other books from the Islamic trilogy makes me uneasy, though. Now I am wary of the video’s intent. I guess that comes from reading the Koran.
“I walked into a Sears store last year,.....”
Glenn Beck was complaining about that years ago. He called them “pros ta tots”
I remember sometime back in the early 90’s when I was a Punk Rocker. Was in the mall saw a kid about 10? She had more make up on than Tammy Faye Bakker. She was with her parents and I (yes I a scary looking Punk Rocker with black lipstick on) turned to her and asked “How old are you? You look so you to have on that much make up”. I can remember to this day her parents gave her a look ask if to say “told you so”.
bump
Since I'm not stupid enough to be tricked into watching a 38 minute video just because someone suggests it (see what I did there, with the big serving of self control?), care to explain where you live that you're forced to watch and read things that you aren't interested in?
My husband and I have taught our children where the "off" button is. So sad that you cant teach your children how to use the discernment God gave them.
It must be terrible to be a victim of "the media" all the time.
Bless your weak little hearts. 💙
I agree with your comments about quoting the Koran, but otherwise thought the video was valuable.
I also thought it was valuable. I watched it through to the end and there were no more Koran quotes - just the 4 or so just a little past the middle of the video.
We have put our children in an awful state with regard to identity issues. I see girls at our local high school showing far too much skin during the school day. I see them get out of their parents’ cars and wave goodbye while wearing shorts nearly up to their crotches or skin tight yoga pants with their hips fully revealed. I’ve started calling it “get me pregnant” clothing. I ask how any parent could let their kid leave the house looking like she’s actively trying to pick up men and then I see the mom get out of the same car and I understand because she’s wearing something similar. I wonder why the dad, at least, is not telling his daughter to go back to her room and change into something more dignified. I know the kids live with both parents in many of these cases. Do some dads just not care anymore?
After seeing the video, I understand where the girls are getting their cues. Pop culture is a sewer.
Please share your secrets as to how you protect your children from certain music, tv, movies, billboards, pedophiles, books, magazines, photographs. The entire world does not have the off switch you seem to imply we should all use. The task is to be aware and that means to know the enemy that is prowling like a lion seeking who he may devour. You can’t avoid what you are are not aware of. And how do you think we are victims of the media? The point is to be aware of their intentions. By the way, my heart is not weak. My heart is bold, but only through Christ.
If, as you say, the task is to be aware, you did a poor service to those you asked to watch your video. You didn't say who/what was in it. You just really want people to watch it, and we should trust you. But I don't, so I didn't watch.
Nothing bad happened to me from saying no, which is what I teach my children. You can choose what you put in your brain.
So, get rid of the desire to please anyone but God and tell your children not to listen/watch/read anything just because someone says it's good. Invite your children to think for themselves. Tell them that you're going to ask them to tell you why they've watched or read something. Help them learn to ask those questions. Follow through. Ask those questions.
Then, teach your children to ask God for discernment. Should I be watching/reading/listening to this? Am I doing it because everyone else is? Do I know what it is about? Is it nourishing to my mind, or is it garbage? The answers will tell you whether you should consume it or not.
Cancel cable. Drop the newspaper. Read those things which make your life better. We always have our children read the book (if it exists) before they see the movie. If they didn't find the book edifying, it helps them make an informed decision about the movie.
Our children range in age from their late 20's down to lower elementary school. I can't say that our older children have never watched anything we wouldn't have approved of, but if they did, they did so on purpose. They were not victims of media. They were responsible for their choices and nothing was shoved down their throats. Make sure that everything is a lesson - even when that lesson is "that made me feel bad/sad/upset, and I don't want to watch things like that again."
You do act as though you are a victim. You asked: "how you protect your children from certain music, tv, movies, billboards..."?
We don't pay to allow those stations/movies/music/games/etc. into our home. We provide alternatives. We can (and do) choose to watch uplifting entertainment. I haven't seen any offensive billboards lately, but perhaps that is a function of where we live. There are very few, and most of the ones I recall seeing were political or religious.
Seriously, where are you that you can't prevent magazines, television, and movies you don't want in your house from entering?
Please share your secrets as to how you protect your children from certain music, tv, movies, billboards, pedophiles, books, magazines, photographs.
How to keep pedophiles out of your home? Is that honestly a problem in your life? I homeschool five days a week, teach with other mothers on the sixth, never alone, and go to church on the seventh. I am with my children seven days a week until they go to college. They are never in the presence of one adult. I would be questioning my life if I didn't know where my children were all all times while they live with me.
Lots of people don't have or watch much TV. Get rid of it or get a TiVo to record what you like and skip the commercials. Lots of people take the time to read books that will teach them something. Take up a hobby. Volunteer. Go to church. Work in the garden. Where are you that you are bombarded with things you don't want to see or hear all day?
We have CDs and music for the car that we enjoy. We all play instruments. We all read. We all have hobbies.
Finally, we homeschool, because you can't send your beloved children into a sewer and expect that they are going to come out clean. It is not always easy, but our children are worth it. All children are worth it.
