Hollywood movie star Ben Affleck has two additional slaveholding ancestors. S.L. Speisseger, who owned 3 slaves in Chatham County Georgia in 1840, according to 1840 U.S. Census, and Georgia A. Speissegger Cole, who owned 1 slave in 1863 and 1864, according to Savannah and Chatham County, Georgia tax digests found by the Daily Beast.
This brings the total number of Afflecks known slaveholding ancestors to 14, and the number of slaves either owned or held as a trustee or on behalf of an estate by these ancestors to 242.

No he didn’t. But he’s running his big mouth at others and making himself look the biggest hypocrite in the process.

You miss the fact that slave ownership is genetic. As an obvious eugenic flaw, buried in his DNA, Affleck had two choices. He could change his political affiliation to Republican, like all other slave owners, (He KNOWS that all slave owners were Republicans.), or as a proper Progressive, be so overwhelmed with guilt over this revelation that he doles out all his money to the descendants of those slaves and lays his head on the MTA tracks and waits for the express.
Yes, I know that wouldn't make sense to anyone of average intellect. We ARE talking Hollywood Lib, here, however.

My dad, born in 1913, told a story where as a little boy he heard an old timer from before homesteading days say that actually hung horse thieves. The reason they were hated so, if your horse was stolen out in the middle of nowhere, literally speaking, it was a death sentence.

I have done extensive research and found that more than half of my ancestors 5 generations and earlier owned slaves. I have no guilt or give a sh__ what anyone thinks. It was acceptable at the time, and even discussed without dissention in the bible.
Benny Boy needs to get over it.

I could care less that Afleck’s ancestors owned slaves except for the mileage that can be had by it to get him to shut his commie pie hole.

I would like to see the old money and politically connected in New England traced back to the slave markets in Boston and New York. You know the haughty Yankee leftists still benefit from their ancestor’s dealings.

Looks like all of Ben’s career success was built on the backs of black slaves! He should be ashamed of himself.

I don’t know of any slaveholding ancestors, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any.
However, even if I came from a long line of plantation owners with hundreds of slaves, I would not dream of apologizing.

Prof. Gates should try to track down some descendants of those 242 slaves and have them over for a meet & greet with the descendant of their ancestor’s owners.

We can see that Affleck’s extreme pro-slavery position isn’t learned. It’s genetic.

Not just that, but the odds are pretty good that one or more of the two hundred odd slaves were sold to somebody else. Maybe some too old for field work and inept at a trade but good as a house servant. Buy and sell per the market.

thats exactly the same thing my dad said about why horse thieves were so hated...steal a mans horse was giving that man a death sentence. They’d hang um high if they got caught.
