Police are accusing a man of shooting the grandfather of a boy who bullied his daughter.
According to Suffolk County Police, Anthony Franklin was upset that his 5-year-old daughter had her hair pulled by another student on a bus ride to school. On Tuesday, Franklin went to the North Amityville home of the boy he believed was involved and got into a fight with the grandfather of the boy.
During the altercation, Franklin pulled out a gun and shot McWilliams twice, said Suffolk police.
Franklin, 28, of North Amityville, was charged with second-degree assault.
The suspect's fiance says this entire thing was self defense and that the gun wasn't his.

No facts in the article. And that’s journalism in 2015.
Oh the Horror...
Thjanique.
Fact-free news. It’s the American way.
Editors find those fact thingies to be very confusing.
” and that the gun wasn’t his”
So if I injure/kill someone with a gun that is not mine that is okay?
If you are struggling with someone who pulled a gun on you and they get shot, then self-defense is certainly a plausible scenario. So, yes, it could be okay.
If the gun belonged to the ‘victim’ and you shot him accidentally while wrestling it away from him, I’d say ‘yes, it’s probably ok’. Did you bother to read the story?
I’m not sure what point you are trying to make, but IF the guy really shot another guy because somebody pulled his kid’s hair, then I’d say yeah, there’s a guy who really, really shouldn’t have a gun.
Just wondering if former mayor bloomin’ idjit meant this “type” of person when he made his comment about keeping guns out of the hands of minorities at the “aspen institute” meeting a while back. Hmmm. That would be classified as racist to us mere peons. Guess nannie bloomers gets a pass.
So is this another black on black crime? Hard to discern with the lack of facts in the article.
From another article about the incident, the story from the mother/fiancee of the girl who was bullied:
“A tussle erupted as Clinton and Franklin were talking to the relatives, one of the boy’s family members tried to pull a gun, Clinton says. She says Franklin grabbed the gun away and fired. Wilson McWilliams, the boy’s grandfather, was shot. He was hospitalized in stable condition.”
No facts required as long as an EVIL GUN was responsible.
