In early April, Roll Call reported that state Sen. Darin LaHood is the establishment frontrunner to replace disgraced former Rep. Aaron Schock, and while politics may be in the junior LaHoods blood, contrary to his claims, conservatism may not be. His father and presumed mentor is Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., who held this seat for more than a decade until 2009 when he left Congress to serve as transportation secretary to President Barack Obama.
Yes, nothing says conservative like resigning to go to work for Barack Obama. And while LaHood the younger claims to be more conservative, his early financial backing suggests otherwise. WND reports:
One of the first contributions of his campaign was a maximum contribution from a union-funded PAC (Republican Main Street Partnership), [Mike Flynn] said. Its whole purpose for being is to attack conservatives in primaries. Whatever he says hes going to be, his actions speak otherwise.
The Republican Main Street Partnership and an allied group have a long history of working to defeat conservative opposition in Republican primaries. Were Darin LaHood the conservative he claims to be, its doubtful that the group would have maxed out its donation to him, let alone done it so early:

I hope that LaHood loses the primary. It’s a fairly safe district and no need to go RINO here.
I’m in Illinois 18. Ugh.
‘Cept it’s been going RINO since 1956. I’d vote for a bonafide Dem nominee over Baby LaThug, at least the Dem would be honest about being a Dem.
I can’t afford to donate much right now, but I’m making a small donation. Constitutional Conservatives need to support those who are in battle with RINOs such as LaHood who is financially supported by the corporatists who are seeking Amnesty and Open Borders.

It was revealed today that “conservative Tea Party” candidate LaThug Jr. is being funded by the ‘Republican Main Street Partnership’, which is about as anti-conservative and anti-Tea Party as it gets. They are literally a RINO, Inc. type PAC that wants to turn the GOP into Democrat lite and “works closely with” groups like Christine Todd Whitman’s It’s My Party Too, Ann Stone’s Republicans for Choice, the Log Cabin Republicans, the Republican Majority For Choice, The Wish List, Republicans for Environmental Protection, the Mainstream Republicans of Washington, and the Kansas Traditional Republican Majority.
Freepers complain about candidates being funded by the pro-incumbent/GOP establishment Republican Leadership Council, but the “Main Street Partnership” RINOs are well to their left:

At this point, I have to conclude the “conservatives leaders” cheering on LaHood are either brain dead or have been bought off. I’m very disappointed in people like Joe Walsh. Here’s a list of Benedict Arnolds on the LaHood bandwagon:
The thing is, I haven't even seen LaThug Jr. do the minimum and make a token "I'm more conservative than my dad" statement. It's the conservative sellouts who are playing him up to GOP primary voters and swearing up and down that LaThug Jr. is "more conservative". Not once in his life has LaThug Jr. even "politely disagreed" with his father's treasonous pro-Obama record.
No reason it can't be both!
Mike Flynn is not a world beater of candidate (stonger candidates were scared out of the race) but this primary is our best chance of stopping LaHood. Once he's an incumbent....it will be harder. And there is no a chance of him losing the general election.
I am not optimistic.
Sen. LaHood should tell us why, if he conservative, two famous RINO’s, Sen. Kirk and Gov. Rauner, endorsed him.
Yep. Is he proud to have Mark Kirk's endorsement?
He could also talk about why the "Main Street Partnership" (which despises conservatives) is funding his campaign. What did he promise them?
And which specific issues he DISAGREES with his father on, since his fan club keeps claiming he's "more conservative" than him.
Of course none of that will ever happen.
Phil, is the Illinois Center Right Coalition still active? If so, they should endorse Flynn at their next meeting.
The ICRC is semi-active. The steering committee has 11 members, and I’m not on it, anymore. Their last meeting was in Nov., and they’ll probably have one in May. Please email some of the SC members and ask them to endorse Flynn. Jon Zahm is the executive director, and he probably endorsed LaHood. I don’t know which candidate(s) other SC members support.
